Queensland Fire and Rescue Service – Rules Governing Competitions July 2011event; however Firefighter 4 remains the Team Captain and is responsible for any standing gear lefton the track after team break off.The team objective is to Strike Targets 1 and 2 consecutively with Case 1 and Case 3 deliveriesfrom the Rural appliance using the on board tank supply.Strike Target 1 with one line of Case 1 from the rural appliance; establish a feed from the UrbanAppliance into the dummy tank fill valve on the Rural Appliance, then strike Target 2 with one lineof one length using 25mm Case 3 delivery hose from the rural appliance.(When making and breaking Stortz couplings on deliveries, the hoses do not need to be straddledbut all washers must be checked)NB: (1) To prevent water entering the tank and overflowing onto the track, the Rural appliance(s)will be fitted with a dummy tank fill valve within the nearside wheel arch which will not allow waterto pass when the dummy tank fill valve is opened. Teams will be required to couple the feed tothis dummy valve and open it fully as per any normal valve..Duties include:• Ff 1.Take out hose reel and branch. Strike Target 1.• Ff 2. *Couple hose to delivery outlet, *Start pump and *open tank valve.• Ff 2. After “Ready at pump” order has been received open the delivery valve andoperate pump at 500kPa.• Ff 3. Turn fuel on - *start the pump - *open the tank valve.• Ff 3. Open case one valve fully and ‘operate pump’.• Ff 3. Couple feed into dummy tank fill valve. Call and signal * “Ready at pump” and*fully open dummy tank fill valve after the hose has been coupled.• Ff 3. Open case 3 delivery valve fully and ‘operate pump’ when “Ready “is called.• Ff 4. Place chocks. Provide and bowl a 64mm feed hose from the Urban Applianceto the Rural Appliance. Provide the female coupling to ff 2 and take the malecoupling to ff 3. (May place coupling/s on ground or pass to ff’s 2 & 3 as desired)• Ff 4. Provide and bowl 25mm delivery hose, *provide one coupling to ff 3 and*couple branch to hose. (May place coupling on ground) Take out hose and striketarget 2• Ff 3. **Due to issues with 25mm hose being prone to kinks preventing sufficient water flow toreach the target, the Case 3 Branch Firefighter may turn off the branch, place it on the groundinside the branch circle (MUST NOT leave branch circle with branch) and return to removeany kink/s or restrictions, OR:- May retain the branch and do this from within the branchcircle. This may be done without penalty if the Judge deemed hose was laid out correctlywhen “Ready” was called.)Time will be taken as the total of the time taken to strike Target 1 plus the time taken to strike Target 2. Bothtimes will commence with the activation of the Event Starter’s signal.E.g. A team takes 20 seconds to strike Target 1 and completes the event (strikes Target 2) in 1 min 30seconds. The total raw team time will be 20 sec plus 1 min 30 sec = 1 min 50 sec.2
