307/92 Uniform badge introduction of a Coxswain's (submarine) wrist badge[D/ST831300/5/31: 68282FA]Introduction1. This DCI announces the introduction of an anodized badge for wear on thewrist by Coxswains in the Submarine Service. The badge will be worn on theright wrist by CPO Coxswains (SM) in numbers 2A, 2.1, 2N, 4,6, 7, 7A, 8J and 10Dress.Background2. Coxswains in submarines perform disciplinary and regulatory duties similar tothose of the Master-At-Arros in ships, but whereas the latter are identifiable inall forms of Dress Coxswains (SM) are not. It has therefore been decided toprovide a metal badge for wear on a wrist strap so that they can be recognizedvisibly in the performance of their duties.Design3. The anodized badge consists of a Coxswains' wheel encircled by a lau~elwreath. A pair of lugs is positioned on the badge to facilitate fitting to the wnststrap which is in white leather.Introductory and supply arrangements .4. Gratuitous issue of one badge and one wrist strap is to be made on promotIonto CPO Coxswain (SM) and to all personnel currently serving in the rate.11

5. Demands for the new badge should be placed on PSTO(N) Devonport.6. Storekeeping and accounting details are shown in the ANNEX.Publications7. BR 81, RN and RM Uniform Regulations will be amended.
