Home-grown idea brought to perfection
by Finnish designer Anne Paso,
the Lovi collection is comprised of
decorations of fine laser-cut birch
plywood. Trees, Christmas trees
and large holiday figures are pre-cut
and gift-packed in beautiful flat box.
Small ornaments and animal figures
come in mailable cards. Cut-outs fit
together precisely without glue or
fasteners.
Lovi gives back to the environment
by contributing generously to a tree
planting program run by FinnChurch
in at-risk parts of the world where
reforestation assistance is needed.
Lovi plants one for every small Lovi
tree it sells, three for every medium
Lovi tree, and five real trees for every
large Lovi tree. To date over 11,000
trees have been planted through
Lovi’s tree proceeds.
All Lovi products are made in Finland
of formaldehyde-free specially milled,
ultra thin plywood. Colored items are
hand-painted with non-toxic waterbased
paints. The new large figures
are made from leftover large tree
cut-outs.

Qdo is a table-ware design company based China with global sensibilities.
Aware that good design requires know-how, Qdo collaborated with
a group of Scandinavian designers led by Pernille Vea for this series of
porcelain thermal mugs inspired by age-old Russian Babuska and Japanese
Kokeshi dolls. Double-walled insulated, embossed, brilliantly glazed,

industrial designer and Bauhaus graduate.This new reproduction
by the Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik is true to the
original 1952 specifications, a bit larger than later reproductions.

The table alarm clocks are beautifully weighted clocks available in 8 cm
(3.1”dia x 1.3”d, 1 x AA battery, not included) and 6 cm (2.4” dia x 0.8”d,

Several years of work by Peter Kahane come
to fruition with the release of a re-edition of the
1920 Wood Chess set by Man Ray (1890-1976,
American.) His long-time friendship with avid
chess player and fellow artist Marcel Duchamp led
him to design a number of important chess sets
of which this is the first. Man Ray sought to use
pure geometric and mathematical forms associated
historically and figuratively with the pieces
they represent--the Egyptian king’s pyramid, the
medieval queen’s conical headdress, the bishop’s
flask for the concocting of healing liqueurs. The
knight was based on a favorite form which Man
Ray would reuse later, the carved scroll of a found
violin. Chess board sold separately, solid beech

The starting point of the Il Coccio collection is the piece
at the far left by Achille Castiglione called the “Fischietto.”
Conceived as a passive humidifier, the Fischietto, and all
the subsequent pieces it engendered, are vessels which
hold pure or scented water for the humidication of a room
when placed against a radiator. All pieces are made in
Italy by Martini Spa of ceramics with non-toxic glaze. The range of shapes
and modes of securing the humifidiers to the radiators proves that creativity
can be expressed in humble utilitarian articles. Ecologically-friendly, and
lifestyle-smart. 7”-13”, collection conceptualized in 2007, launched in 2010.
