Despite temperatures of minus 25 degrees, new snow that attimes came up to their hips and the extremely short winter days with little daylight, he andhis partners Dani Arnold and Thomas Senf succeeded in putting his plan into action. Takingadvantage of the fi rst spell of fi ne weather and operating at full speed for three days andthree nights, the three mountaineers reached the summit of the Torre Egger at midday onAugust 3 rd . They completed the ascent in fl awless alpine style, with no prior set up of fi xedropes or equipment stores.
