Dear Friends,
............................................................
St. Ignatius Loyola urges us to “consider
how all good things and gifts descend from
above... just as the rays come down from the
sun, or the rains from their source.”
– Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola #237
One of my favorite photos in this year’s annual report is the image of the Goso brothers found on page
two. Gadisa and Hambisa Goso can light up a room with their smiles. They are rays of warm sunshine
on a cold winter’s day. Both brothers are graduates of Nativity Prep, and both have returned to their
alma mater to give back to the school community that gave so much to them. Their brotherly affection
and heartwarming service make them ideal models of the people all our students are called to become
- loving brothers who are men for others.
The pages of this annual report are filled with the names and photos of people much like the Goso brothers
– men and women who light up the world as our students navigate their way through adolescence in the
tough and treacherous inner-city neighborhoods of Boston. Nativity Prep is like a second family for our
students. Benefactors, trustees, volunteers, tutors, teachers, and friends are all members of the extended
family that has served our students and sustained our mission for over twenty years.
It is no secret that strong family support makes it possible for people to survive through tough times. At
Nativity Prep we are deeply grateful for all the members of our extended family who helped to make our
20th anniversary year such a huge success. Your generous support has sustained us through the most
challenging economic conditions our school has ever faced. Your continued support, as we forge ahead
into our next twenty years, will make our family stronger and more resilient than ever.
St. Ignatius Loyola urges us to “consider how all good things and gifts descend from above... just as the
rays come down from the sun, or the rains from their source.” We make it a habit at Nativity to reflect
each morning on the many gifts we have received, and we ask God to teach us how to be generous with
those gifts. We are grateful to you, our extended family of benefactors, for all the ways you shine like
the sun and quench our thirst for models of what it means to be men and women for others.
Gratefully,
Rev. John C. Wronski, S.J.
