A state-approved,non-accredited MA option is available.Early Childhood In-Service ProgramThis three-year summer program is part <strong>of</strong> oursummer teacher training (described above),and is intended for students currently workingin a <strong>Waldorf</strong> early childhood setting.<strong>Waldorf</strong> Teacher <strong>Education</strong> HybridNew classes begin Summer 2013.Two-year, part-time program providingexperienced teachers in <strong>Waldorf</strong> inspiredcharter schools with a certificate or nonaccreditedMA degree.Remedial Teacher <strong>Education</strong>New class series begins November 2–6, 2012Meets three times a year for three years. <strong>The</strong>spring and fall sessions meet over five days;the summer sessions meet over two weeks.<strong>The</strong> program is ideal for those who wish toexpand their understanding <strong>of</strong>, and ways <strong>of</strong>working with, learning- and/or behaviorchallengedstudents. Valuable approacheswill be given for use in the classroom andfor individual work with these students.Participants will learn assessment proceduresas well as developmental, Extra Lesson, andother pedagogical exercises and approaches.<strong>Art</strong>istic classes include speech, paintingtherapy, music therapy, clay modeling, andform drawing. During Year Two, participantsobserve educational support teachersworking with students, teachers, and parents.During Year Three, participants work withindividual students, parents, and teachersunder the supervision <strong>of</strong> mentors. Expertsin educational and medical fields contributeto this valuable program. Completion <strong>of</strong>Foundation Studies, and ideally <strong>Waldorf</strong>Teacher Training, is a prerequisite.<strong>Waldorf</strong> Teacher <strong>Education</strong> forSubject Teachers in HandworkClasses begin June 21, 2012.For <strong>Waldorf</strong> handwork teachers in the grades,this three-year program meets in three-weeksessions every summer, plus one week everyspring. Included are continuing independentstudy and observation in <strong>Waldorf</strong> schoolsduring the school year. This programcombines Foundation Studies (week 1, June21-29) and Handwork Curriculum (weeks2-3). Students with prior Foundation Studiesare welcome to apply.<strong>The</strong> handwork program focuses on thephilosophical foundations <strong>of</strong> <strong>Waldorf</strong>education, age-appropriate lessons for thegrades curriculum, practical skills, andmentoring with master teachers. Other areasmay include therapeutic applications, collegialrelationships, classroom management, andparent education.Community Learning Centers (CLCs)Those who wish to take the FoundationStudies closer to their home can choosethis option and simultaneously enroll inour Summer <strong>Waldorf</strong> Teacher <strong>Education</strong>Program. CLCs have been established in:Montreal, Canada; Anchorage, Alaska;Denver, Colorado; Phoenix, Arizona;Prescott, Arizona; Reno, Nevada; Los Altos,California; Nevada City, California; and FairOaks, California. Others are in the process<strong>of</strong> forming. A minimum <strong>of</strong> ten students isrequired to establish a CLC in a particularlocale. A new cycle <strong>of</strong> our Fair Oaks,California CLC will begin in Fall 2012.Financial AssistancePayment plans are available for all programs.Students in all <strong>Waldorf</strong> Teacher <strong>Education</strong>Programs who can prove financial need willbe considered for a private tuition loan or ascholarship. Newlyrevised course in two 3-week intensives,taken separately or consecutively, designedto explore the fundamentals <strong>of</strong> innertransformation through a combination<strong>of</strong> lectures, artistic work, and seminarconversations. <strong>The</strong> lectures will focus on thechallenges and potentials <strong>of</strong> initiating changesin the subtle bodies seen through the lens <strong>of</strong><strong>Rudolf</strong> <strong>Steiner</strong>’s Spiritual Science. Guidedcollage exercises allow for precise journaling<strong>of</strong> feelings that arise in the design process.Conversations on texts that describe thedialogue process <strong>of</strong> initiation science, such as,Zeus and Prometheus; Arjuna and Krishna;Job and God; and the remarkable AlchemicalWedding <strong>of</strong> Christian Rosenkreutz.Afternoons are devoted to working with thesethemes through painting and eurythmy.Center for Systemic Learning<strong>The</strong> Center for Systemic Leadership is anentrepreneurial venture at <strong>Rudolf</strong> <strong>Steiner</strong><strong>College</strong> that <strong>of</strong>fers courses, workshops andfacilitation services to the anthroposophical,non-pr<strong>of</strong>it, and business communities. Wework with critical and systemic thinkingpractices for effectively managing complexissues—those issues that keep leaders andmanagers up at night.
