countries, who have not seen much benefits from<br />

industrialisation <strong>and</strong> modernisation <strong>and</strong> yet are<br />

becoming the main victims of climate change.<br />

My preference is that we should not point fingers at<br />

each other, the poor blaming the rich<br />

for the nefarious effects of climate change, but the<br />

poor must do small things or actually big things in our<br />

own countries as I do in my country; in planting trees,<br />

stop the deforestation through slash <strong>and</strong> burn or<br />

unscrupulous logging, cleaning our rivers, lakes <strong>and</strong><br />

seas. If all the nations were to do this, we would<br />

already contribute to reduce up to 25% in global<br />

emission.<br />

When mother earth is plagued with a cancer of this<br />

magnitude, it is not surprising that sport<br />

becomes less prevalent in the vocabulary of our young<br />

people today. Sport is little used as a policy tool to<br />
