One output is internally connected tothe other input. This extends the maximum length of an MM4007/MM5007 to 200 bits and the MM4019/MM5019maximum to 512 bits. However, each half stillhas the same minimum, so the minimums become40 and 80 bits, respectively (Table 18). Again, the customer specifies the most convenient I/Opin connections.VssTOP VIEWFIGURE 2aVssTOP VIEWFIGURE 2bFIGURE 2. Single RegistersGoing to the output tap designs of Figure 3takes only one more wire bond; from the firstregister output to any available pin. Tap locationsare selected by specifying the bit lengths of eachof the dual registers. For example, an MM5007105 bits long may be tapped at any stage from20 to 85 bits. Generally, this flexibility makesinput taps unnecessary-an output at 29 bits ina 105-bit register usually serves the same purposeas an input at 76 bits.OUTPUTTAPNCVGGNC2 6 OUTPUT BVssTOP VIEWFIGURE 3aVGGOUTPUT A 2 6TOP VIEWFIGURE 3bOU11'UTTAPFIGURE 3. Output Tap OptionsOPERATING CHARACTERISTICSAll specifications, except bit lengths, are the sameas those of other MM4000/MM5000 series dynamicshift registers with the same number of I/O stages.Clock-line capacitance, power dissipation, as wellas other AC and DC parameters, are independentof the lengths programmed. This is accomplishedby standardizing clock and supply wiring patternsto achieve minimum turnaround time and cost. The MM4007/MM5007 and MM4019/MM5019 arefabricated using a low-threshold, p-channel enhancement-modetechnology developed for theMM4000/MM5000 series of registers. This meansthat they are bipolar compatible, sensing TTL orDTL data without input pull·up resistors anddriving TTL or DTL loads without output pull·down resistors. They operate on standard +5Vand -12V supplies. The clock frequency rangeis also the same, from 300 Hz to 2.5 MHz,guaranteed.Either TO-99 or dual· in-line packages may bespecified. MM4007 and MM4019 operate at -55°Cto +125°C. MM5007 and MM5019 are commericaltypes, specified for -25°C to + 70°C.276
