É preciso umalegitimação que ocorra no plano sócio-acadêmico-cultural, concedendo aohistoriador a autoridade de reconstituir o passado, permitindo-lhe escolher oquê e como a coletividade conhecerá sobre suas origens. Assim, o historiadorpode elaborar mitos históricos que justificam o presente e tentam antecipar ofuturo. Representante da elite luso-brasileira em Calabar, frei Manoel doSalvador já avisara: “o que importa não é a verdade intrínseca das coisas, masa maneira como elas vão ser contadas ao povo” 11 .Na construção do mito do Calabar-traidor, certas vozes e eventos foramselecionados e outros suprimidos. Calado pôde contar sua história, mas a viúvade Calabar, Bárbara, não teve tal oportunidade. Gonçalves de Mello pôdeescrever sobre as prostitutas holandesas no Recife do século XVII, mas elasnão puderam falar sobre si mesmas. Varnhagen pôde condenar Calabar aoeterno inferno histórico, mas o mestiço não pôde se manifestar. Sobre todasestas versões da história, paira o historiador demiurgo, escolhendo quais eventosirá relatar, atribuindo sentido às ações e palavras de homens do passado paraexaltá-los ou condená-los.Calabar refigura o passado de modo diferente. Design and FunctionVacuum Tube Lifter JumboThe vacuum tube lifter Jumbo consists of a vacuum generator, a lifting unit, an operating unit and suction pad.The Jumbo only uses vacuum to raise and lower loads.Picking up and Lifting the Load• The vacuum generator (pump, blower or ejector)generates a vacuum in the system by continuallyevacuating air.• The difference between the negative pressure andthe ambient pressure draws the workpiece to thesuction pad. This is generally called “picking up”the workpiece.• Once the workpiece has been picked up, the flowrate causes the lift tube to contract. The workpieceis then lifted.Lowering and Releasing the Load• Operating the control element feeds atmospheric airinto the system (“venting”). The vacuum is reduced.• This causes the lift tube to expand and the load islowered. The lifting height can be precisely controlledby controlling the amount of atmospheric air that isfed into the system.
