Roman: (Roman), not too long ago <strong>Hungarian</strong>s livedhere and Saxons, in 300 houses, over 800 inhabitants, now in 6houses live 36 person. <strong>The</strong> town is lpopulated by Rumaniansand Armenians.24. Tamaseni: (Tamasfalva). In this part there are sixvillages with <strong>Hungarian</strong> catholics: Thomasfalva, Dsidafalva,Domafalva Szab<strong>of</strong>alva, Lokosfalva, Czisk<strong>of</strong>alva.25. Adjudeni: (Dsidafalva), 163 inhabitants. 26.Rachiteni(Domafalva), 389 inhabitants.27. Saboani: (Szab<strong>of</strong>alva) the number <strong>of</strong> inhabitants inthis village is 300, with children.28. Licuseni: (Lokosfalva). Total number <strong>of</strong> theinhabitants is 40.29. Tetcani: (Steczk<strong>of</strong>alva). 160 inhabitants.30. Neamt: (Nemcz) this town was occupied by Saxons,they had five churches and now they have only one, built in1629, the number <strong>of</strong> catholics is 94. <strong>The</strong> parish and the teacher'shouse is ruined. <strong>The</strong>re are 400 schismatics, and there is afamous Bazilitan monastery.31.Gyula: (Gyula) it had a big church (50x20 feet), butnow only the basement remains, a Greek baron built a castlefrom the materials <strong>of</strong> the church.32. Baia: (Baja) In the past this town was inhabited bySaxons, 1000 houses, 6000 residents, but now there are 40houses and 256 catholics. <strong>The</strong>re's no other church in Moldavialike this, high towers in sculpted stone, it has five altars. Thischurch was built in 1410, in the honor <strong>of</strong> the Virgin Mariatogether with the Moldavian monastery, by the illustrious PrinceAlexandru Voda, whose pious wife, Margareta is buried underthe baptistry. Let her rest in eternity with the hope <strong>of</strong>resurrection. Amen.33. Suceava: (Sucsavia)... In the past over 8000Saxons dwelt here, <strong>Hungarian</strong>s and Italians, now they are 25 innumber forgot their mother tongue, speak Rumanian. <strong>The</strong>y hadtwo stone churches, one was restored in 1638.
