By thus, the priests, coming from Transylvania,being <strong>Hungarian</strong>, will be accepted by the people.<strong>The</strong> second reason is that many missionary priests from thatregion know the Valachian language because their families arefrom these places.<strong>The</strong> third reason is the closeness <strong>of</strong> the region. Bacau, myresidence and the province <strong>of</strong> Csik are at two days' walkingdistance, from Sabaoani, where the monks intend to set up theirmonastery.<strong>The</strong> fourth is the monastic discipline and strictness;demanded from the monks by their superiors, to the benefit <strong>of</strong>laic Christians.<strong>The</strong>fifth is the feeling <strong>of</strong> the people who support the priestsfrom their own nation with more affection, than the foreigners.<strong>The</strong>se people, when they come to ask for a priest, are telling me:"Monsigneur, we demand You to give us a priest from our ownbelief, because the one who doesn't know <strong>Hungarian</strong> is like onewho is not Catholic." Many more people would come to theliturgy, would listen to the sermon and confess more <strong>of</strong>ten,because in <strong>Hungarian</strong> they could express their feelings, better
than in Valachian.That's why God and the Holy church is sending us there, tosatisfy the spiritual needs <strong>of</strong> those people.For the above mentioned reasons, the Holy Congregationshould sent here Transylvanian priests. I also ask to be given aspecial decree for two priests from Transylvania. One is StefanTapolczai, whose parents are originated from this region. Hespeaks <strong>Hungarian</strong>, Rumanian and Latin, he is a good orator,has good economic sense. <strong>The</strong> other one, the Bosnian FraFrancesco Derventa is serving for many years in this province.He is a father with an exemplary life, high principles, is a goodlistener and conscious in fulfilling the monastic rules.
