DIRECTV Mobile Receiver/Controller User’s Guide9-4 Designating the Receiver asPrimary or SecondaryEach mobile receiver/controller must be designatedas either a primary or a secondary receiver.Primary Receiver• Supplies power to the antenna• Allows you to control the antenna• Can receive local channels (within your DMA)• Must be connected directly to the antenna, eithervia a single coax cable or a splitter’s “Primary”jack (see Appendix A for wiring diagrams)• Only one allowed per systemSecondary Receiver• Does not power or control the antenna• Simply receives a TV signal from the antenna• A system may have one, none, or multiplesecondary receivers9.6Follow the steps below to designate the receiver as aprimary or secondary receiver.1. Antenna Controls5. If you want to designate the receiver as theprimary receiver, highlight Set Primary. If youwant to designate the receiver as a secondaryreceiver, highlight Set Secondary. Then pressSELECT.Receivers are set to “Primary” by default atthe factory. Therefore, you will need to setany additional receivers to “Secondary.”ANTENNA Light on Secondary ReceiversThe ANTENNA light on secondary receivers willremain off at all times.
