System Wiring DiagramsTwo Mobile Receiver/ControllersComponents Required• Splitter Kit, KVH P/N 72-0177• (TracVision M3/M2 only) A Splitter Kit is includedin the Extra Receiver Kit (P/N 01-0288-01).• The special DC block (40V) splitter included inthe Splitter Kit permits communications betweenthe antenna and the primary receiver/controller.A standard off-the-shelf splitter will not work.Primary vs. Secondary• The receiver/controller you connect to thesplitter’s “Primary” jack is the primary receiver/controller. Only the primary receiver/controllercan communicate directly with the antenna toreport status and select satellites.• The receiver/controller you connect to thesplitter’s “Secondary” jack is the secondaryreceiver/controller.54-0376• The secondary receiver/controller needs to be setup for secondary operation. Follow the steps inSection 9-4, “Designating the Receiver as Primary orSecondary” on page 9.6.• The primary receiver/controller supplies powerto the antenna. It must be turned on in order touse the secondary receiver/controller.• Only the primary receiver/controller can receivelocal channels (within the DMA used on youraccount).Remote Control for Secondary Receiver/Controller• To avoid interference or “cross talk” between thetwo remote controls, you can program one of theremotes for a different ID code. See Section 3-3,“Controlling Multiple Receivers” on page 3.10 fordetails.ANTENNA Light on Secondary Receiver/Controller• The ANTENNA light on the front panel of thesecondary receiver/controller will remain off atall times. Only the primary receiver/controllercan monitor antenna status.A.7
