This is asimple and low cost way to achieve wireless serial data transmission. There is one limitation that thebaud rate at which it can transmit is at 2400 bps only and only half duplex communication can beestablished.Half Duplex means the unit caneither transmit or receive data atsame time. Both transmit and receivecannot happen together in sametime.Its great where you want to remotetransmit strings like sensor readingsor perform remote controlapplications. Interfacing with microcontrollerIt’s very easy to interface with microcontroller having UART at 5V level. Configure yourmicrocontroller to communicate at 2400 baud rate and you are ready to receive or transmit.Due to nature of <strong>IR</strong> <strong>Link</strong>, It would happen that whatever you transmit will also reflect back to itsreceiver RXD pin. So when you transmit make sure you do not check received data at same time.For example if you are implementing receive interrupt, disable it before transmission.
