Table 3.17 shows that rock salt, solution-mined brine and salt from potash mining wastes<br />

usually generate much higher amounts <strong>of</strong> brine filtration sludges than vacuum salt. As regards<br />

<strong>the</strong> membrane process, <strong>the</strong> technology In addition, <strong>the</strong> membrane cell technique requires more<br />

rigorous purification <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> brine, and sludge disposal from <strong>the</strong> filters is thus more significant.<br />
