我 们 的 社 区 Our CommunityGE 成 都 员 工 与 中 学 生举 办 职 业 见 习 日 活 动Students Enjoy Job Shadow Dayat GE Chengdu2011 年 12 月 1 日 , 由 GE 成 都 员 工 与 青 年 成 就 组 织 (JA) 共同 举 办 的 职 业 见 习 日 活 动 在 成 都 办 公 室 圆 满 落 幕 。 来 自 成 都 电子 科 大 实 验 中 学 的 20 名 高 中 生 参 与 了 此 次 活 动 。作 为 GE 成 都 志 愿 者 活 动 的 大 力 推 动 者 ,GE 中 国 区 副 总 裁 、 西南 区 总 经 理 、 成 都 创 新 中 心 总 经 理 马 加 宁 对 同 学 们 表 示 了 热 烈的 欢 迎 。 在 简 短 的 GE 介 绍 及 办 公 环 境 参 观 后 , 同 学 们 被 分 为几 组 , 跟 随 GE 员 工 去 了 解 他 们 的 日 常 工 作 并 学 习 一 些 常 用 的工 作 技 能 。 这 些 员 工 来 自 于 不 同 部 门 , 有 的 从 事 市 场 与 销 售 工 作 ,有 的 精 通 法 律 。 员 工 们 向 同 学 介 绍 了 自 己 的 工 作 内 容 , 并 耐 心回 答 了 他 们 对 工 作 的 疑 问 , 同 时 还 与 同 学 们 分 享 了 自 己 在 工 作中 总 结 出 的 办 公 技 巧 与 经 验 , 例 如 如 何 给 客 户 打 电 话 、 常 用 办公 设 备 及 软 件 的 使 用 等 。一 个 半 小 时 的 见 习 日 活 动 融 洽 又 充 满 乐 趣 。 同 学 们 在 接 下 来 的分 组 讨 论 中 分 享 了 在 GE 的 所 见 所 闻 所 感 。 他 们 说 GE 良 好 的 工作 氛 围 、 员 工 积 极 自 主 的 工 作 态 度 及 从 工 作 中 发 现 乐 趣 的 良 好心 态 让 他 们 收 获 良 多 。 通 过 与 志 愿 者 面 对 面 的 交 流 , 他 们 认 识到 在 实 际 工 作 中 掌 握 英 语 技 能 和 沟 通 技 巧 的 重 要 性 。 同 时 , 主动 表 达 、 团 队 展 示 等 活 动 也 锻 炼 了 他 们 的 沟 通 能 力 和 团 队 协 作能 力 。 同 学 们 的 积 极 分 享 得 到 了 GE 导 师 们 的 认 可 , 也 对 GE 员工 的 志 愿 者 活 动 起 到 了 很 好 的 激 励 作 用 。活 动 结 束 后 , 同 学 们 在 JA 调 查 问 卷 中 对 这 次 活 动 、 志 愿 者 的 耐心 和 热 情 给 予 了 极 高 的 评 价 。 许 多 同 学 表 示 从 GE 员 工 身 上 学到 了 许 多 在 学 校 学 不 到 的 知 识 。GE 志 愿 者 也 衷 心 地 希 望 能 够 参加 更 多 这 样 有 益 的 活 动 , 将 GE 的 企 业 文 化 及 其 影 响 力 传 递 给更 多 的 青 年 朋 友 。On December 1, 2011, the GE Chengdu office partnered withJunior Achievement (JA) to hold its Job Shadow Day for 20students from Chengdu UESCT Middle School.As a promoter of GE volunteerism in Chengdu, Joseph Ma,GE China Vice President and General Manager of ChengduInnovation Center and General Manager of Southwest Region,extended a warm welcome to all participating students. After abrief introduction to GE and a short tour of the offices, studentswere divided into groups to follow GE mentors in experiencingwhat life is like as a GE employee. The mentors from differentbusiness divisions, such as marketing and sales or legal, showedthe students the GE offices and provided details on their dailyroutines. Along with answering the students’ questions, thementors also shared insights into their daily work, such as howto call customers and how to use office equipment and software.After the one and a half-hour mentoring session wrapped up, thestudents summarized the day’s sights and experiences. Manyagreed that GE created a positive working environment. Life at GEseemed not too strenuous and each employee could work with acertain degree of independence. They all agreed that working atGE seemed interesting and fulfilling. Through their observationsthe students learned the importance of English in the workplaceas well as GE’s culture of emphasizing good communicationswithin a team. The job shadowing experience in general provedan excellent example of GE’s volunteer spirit and communityengagement.At the end of the day, the students gave a lot of positive feedbackvia the Junior Achievement (JA) questionnaire. They commendedthe GE volunteers’ passion and patience in organizing this event.The students also expressed their desire for similar events in thefuture to promote more exchanges between GE mentors and thestudents (potential GE employees one day).关 注 老 人 传 递 温 暖Bringing More Love to the Elders春 节 临 近 ,GE 无 锡 的 志 愿 者 冒 着 绵 绵 冬 雨 , 来 到 了 无 锡 新安 敬 老 院 , 为 老 人 送 上 节 日 的 祝 福 , 用 爱 心 温 暖 老 人 们 的 心 。志 愿 者 们 为 敬 老 院 的 每 一 个 房 间 都 贴 上 了 喜 气 的 福 字 和 美丽 的 窗 花 , 为 敬 老 院 的 每 一 个 角 落 挂 上 了 大 红 的 灯 笼 , 将 敬老 院 装 饰 得 喜 气 洋 洋 。 志 愿 者 们 还 给 老 人 们 送 去 了 吉 祥 袜 作为 新 年 礼 物 , 祝 福 老 人 们 新 年 快 乐 、 吉 祥 如 意 、 身 体 健 康 !除 了 送 祝 福 外 , 志 愿 者 的 孩 子 们 为 敬 老 院 的 老 人 表 演 了 精 彩 节目 , 朗 诵 、 唱 歌 、 弹 琴 轮 番 上 演 。 孩 子 们 还 和 老 人 们 玩 起 了他 们 儿 时 的 游 戏 , 将 敬 老 院 变 成 了 欢 乐 的 海 洋 。 节 目 表 演 后 ,志 愿 者 为 老 人 们 播 放 了 一 部 50 年 代 的 黑 白 老 片 子 , 并 准 备了 休 闲 零 食 , 陪 伴 老 人 们 回 忆 过 去 的 温 馨 时 光 。 最 后 , 当 志愿 者 们 将 要 离 开 时 , 老 人 们 拉 着 他 们 的 手 久 久 不 放 开 , 依 依不 舍 的 画 面 让 大 家 感 动 不 已 。这 次 活 动 得 到 了 GE 超 声 生 产 制 造 团 队 的 大 力 支 持 , 整 个 团队 也 借 此 进 行 了 团 队 建 设 , 在 活 动 结 束 后 , 大 家 都 表 示 要 用自 己 的 实 际 行 动 为 老 人 们 打 开 一 扇 扇 窗 , 将 爱 的 阳 光 洒 进 老人 们 的 心 房 , 让 他 们 不 再 孤 单 !Since the spring festival was approaching, volunteers from GEWuxi visited Xin’an Nursing Home on a cold, rainy winter day,bringing the warmth of love and care to the elderly residents.Volunteers pasted “Fu” characters and beautiful paper cuttingsin the residents’ rooms. They also put up red lanterns in eachcorner of the nursing home, providing an extra blanket ofemotional warmth to welcome the Chinese New Year. Volunteersalso gave pairs of gloves as gifts to the residents, wishing themgreat fortune and health in the year ahead.Apart from the gifts, the children of the volunteers alsoprepared a wonderful presentation including poems, songs,and piano tunes. They also played traditional childhoodgames with their newfound senior friends, filling the roomswith laughter. Following the performances, a black-andwhitefilm from 1950s was shown and snacks were prepared,allowing the residents to recall past warm memories fromwhen they were young. When it came time for the volunteersand their children to leave, the elderly residents held thechildren’s hands, asking if they could stay longer, showinghow much fun the residents had with their younger guests.The activity was strongly supported by GE’s ultrasoundmanufacturing team, which used this opportunity to spreadlove and joy to the elderly residents and reinforce their teamspirit as well. Afterwards, the volunteers realized they shouldspend more time visiting the elderly residents to help themenjoy their twilight years.77 LIFE at GELIFE at GE 78
