我 们 的 社 区 Our CommunityGE 中 国 研 发 中 心 志 愿 者为 华 师 大 二 附 中 同 学 职 业 导 航Students Get an Inside Look at GE CTC日 前 , 在 GE 中 国 研 发 中 心 志 愿 者 的 带 领 下 , 华 师 大 二 附 中 的 在 校 同 学 走 进 GE 中 国 科 技 园 的 中 央 广 场 , 开 展 了 一 次 主 题 为 “ 向 左 走 ,向 右 走 ” 的 职 业 定 向 讨 论 。 学 生 们 在 志 愿 者 的 带 领 下 了 解 GE, 亲 身 体 验 GE 的 工 作 状 态 和 环 境 。除 了 参 观 GE 日 常 工 作 环 境 与 设 施 ,GE 医 疗 生 命 科 学 部 研 发 培 训 中 心 的 同 事 们 特 地 为 同 学 们 介 绍 了 生 命 科 学 实 验 室 的 主 要 功 能 、研 究 方 向 、 设 备 用 途 等 。 科 学 家 们 还 分 享 了 研 发 过 程 中 的 酸 甜 苦 乐 以 及 自 己 从 事 这 项 工 作 的 领 悟 和 体 会 。 在 场 的 同 学 们 在 感 叹 实验 室 明 亮 整 洁 、 设 备 精 良 的 同 时 , 也 对 研 发 工 作 产 生 了 向 往 与 崇 敬 之 情 。2011 香 港 慈 善 保 龄 球 募 捐 比 赛 成 功 举 行Knocking Down Pins to Raise Money forUnder Privileged Students一 小 时 的 参 观 时 间 十 分 短 暂 , 同 学 们 在 离 开 时 仍 然 依 依 不 舍 。 在 GE 中 国 科 技 园 广 场 拍 照 留 念 时 , 学 生 们 热 论 着 一 个 话 题 : 将 来 我是 向 左 走 , 还 是 向 右 走 ? 向 左 走 是 GE 全 球 研 发 中 心 , 而 向 右 走 则 是 GE 中 国 总 部 。 无 论 走 哪 一 边 , 学 生 们 都 坚 信 GE 会 是 个 非 常好 的 职 业 平 台 。 至 此 我 们 的 活 动 也 接 近 尾 声 , 在 学 生 的 心 中 播 下 GE 种 子 的 同 时 ,GE 也 对 这 些 孩 子 们 寄 予 希 望 , 用 活 动 组 织 者 吴波 的 话 来 说 :“ 希 望 有 一 天 , 你 们 能 以 一 个 GE 人 的 身 份 再 次 回 到 这 里 。”Recently, CTC volunteers hosted a career orientation event for students from a local secondary school. . The volunteer activity wasthemed, “Turn Right, or Turn Left?” and gave students an opportunity to see firsthand what it is like to work at GE.2011 年 10 月 27 日 ,GE 香 港 举 办 了 一 场 慈 善 保 龄 球 募 捐 比 赛 , 得 到 了 GE 员 工 及 其 家 人 的 热 烈 响 应 。 比 赛 共 分 为 十组 , 每 组 由 两 位 成 员 组 成 。 经 过 激 烈 的 角 逐 ,Benny Liu 和 Tsang Kai Lung 这 一 小 组 获 得 全 场 小 组 最 高 分 ; 而 BennyLiu 本 人 则 取 得 男 子 组 最 高 分 。在 当 天 的 募 捐 比 赛 中 , 每 个 小 组 至 少 捐 赠 了 800 港 币 , 这 些 募 捐 资 金 将 全 部 捐 献 于 寰 宇 希 望 慈 善 机 构 , 用 于 为 大 陆或 香 港 地 区 贫 困 地 区 的 孩 子 们 购 买 文 具 。Besides seeing the daily work routines and equipment at GE, scientistsfrom GE Healthcare Life Sciences Lab introduced students to the mainfunctions, orientation and facilities of the Life Sciences Lab. Theyalso spoke to the students about their related field work and workexperiences. The students’ visits to GE allowed them to get an inside lookat GE and see what it’s like to work in the technology field. Manysaid they thought this line of work was admirable and interesting.On October 27, 2011, GE Hong Kong successfully held its Charity Bowling Fundraising Tournament. Employees and theirfamilies from different business divisions enjoyed the competitive event, with participants divided into 10 teams of twoplayers. After rounds of fierce competition, the Highest Scoring Team was awarded to Benny Liu and Tsang Kai Lung;and the Highest Scoring Male Prize was given to Benny Liu.The minimum contribution for each team was HK $800, which goes to the Hope Worldwide education project to buystudy kits for underprivileged students in China and Hong Kong.After touring the CTC facilities for about an hour, it was time for thestudents to leave. The students were sad to go, having grown fondof GE, the GE staff and their work. The right and left theme referredto CTC (on the left) and GE China (on the right), with the decision in thehands of each student. All of the students agreed that GE would be agreat platform to launch their careers, no matter where they end up.Wu Bo, who organized this activity, expressed his high expectationswith the students: "I hope the next time you come back here, it will beas a GE employee.”73 LIFE at GELIFE at GE 74
