我 们 的 社 区 Our CommunityGE 中 国 研 发 中 心 举 办 民 工 子 弟 小 学 手拉 手 趣 味 英 语 竞 赛GE CTC Holds Fun English Competitionfor Migrant School Students2011 年 11 月 25 日 ,GE 中 国 研 发 中 心 成 功 举 办 了 民 工 子 弟 小 学手 拉 手 趣 味 英 语 竞 赛 , 十 所 来 自 浦 东 新 区 民 工 子 弟 小 学 的 学 生 参加 了 比 赛 。 最 终 , 康 桥 工 友 小 学 荣 获 团 体 冠 军 。 本 次 活 动 作 为GE 中 国 研 发 中 心 民 工 子 弟 小 学 志 愿 者 项 目 的 一 部 分 , 由 GE 中 国研 发 中 心 与 上 海 市 浦 东 新 区 教 育 发 展 研 究 院 共 同 举 办 。GE 中 国 研 发 中 心 总 裁 陈 向 力 说 :“ 我 们 很 高 兴 和 浦 东 新 区 教 育发 展 研 究 院 合 作 , 为 改 善 民 工 子 弟 小 学 的 英 语 教 学 质 量 做 出 自 己应 有 的 贡 献 。GE 志 愿 者 在 此 次 活 动 中 的 优 秀 表 现 再 次 体 现 了 GE的 企 业 社 会 责 任 精 神 。 仅 在 2011 年 ,GE 中 国 研 发 中 心 1000 多名 志 愿 者 已 经 贡 献 了 超 过 5000 小 时 的 志 愿 服 务 , 完 成 了 18 个 社区 、 环 境 和 教 育 方 面 的 志 愿 者 项 目 , 志 愿 者 精 神 已 经 深 深 融 入 到了 我 们 的 企 业 文 化 中 。”民 工 子 弟 小 学 英 语 培 训 项 目 第 一 期 于2010 年 8 月 启 动 , 这 已 是 项 目 开展 以 来 的 第 三 期 活 动 。 项 目 的主 要 目 的 是 帮 助 民 工 子 弟 学 校改 善 英 语 教 学 , 激 发 学 生 对 英 语 的 兴 趣 , 提 高 社 会 对 这 一 群 体 的关 注 度 。2011 年 7 月 , 该 项 目 荣 获 上 海 市 外 商 投 资 企 业 协 会 授予 的 企 业 社 会 责 任 优 秀 案 例 奖 。On November 25, 2011, a fun English competition for studentsfrom ten Pudong Migrant Primary Schools in Shanghai washeld in GE China Technology Center (CTC). At the end of thecompetition, Kang Qiao Gong You Migrant School won the topteam title. The competition is part of the CTC Volunteer Programlaunched by GE CTC and the Shanghai Pudong Institute ofEducation Development (PIED).Chen Xiangli, President of GE CTC said: “We are thrilled to beable to contribute to improving English language education inmigrant schools by working closely with the PIED. Our volunteersconsistently display GE’s strong spirit of social and communityresponsibility. In 2011, employees at GE CTC devoted over 5,000hours on 18 projects concerning the community, environmentand education. These hours and projects clearly show that thevolunteer spirit is an integral part of GE’s corporate culture.”GE AVIC JV 志 愿 者 为 民 工 子 弟 小 学送 去 新 年 礼 物GE AVIC JV Volunteers Raise MoneyFor Migrant Children2011 年 11 月 23 至 24 日 ,GE AVIC JV 举 办 了 名 为 “ 植 物 义 卖 ” 的 公 益 活 动 。 此 次 活 动 吸 引 了 135 名 员 工 参 与 , 共筹 集 善 款 4300 元 , 所 得 款 项 全 部 以 公 司 名 义 捐 给 昌 林 民 工 子 弟 小 学 , 用 于 为 孩 子 们 购 置 新 年 礼 物 。2011 年 12 月14 日 ,JV 公 司 的 8 名 志 愿 者 来 到 上 海 昌 林 民 工 子 弟 小 学 , 为 孩 子 们 送 去 了 字 典 、 文 具 等 新 年 礼 物 , 并 与 师 生 们 进行 了 愉 快 的 联 谊 活 动 , 使 孩 子 们 体 会 到 了 来 自 社 会 和 JV 公 司 的 温 暖 和 关 爱 。 孩 子 们 还 为 志 愿 者 们 送 上 了 手 语 版 的歌 曲 《 感 谢 》。 志 愿 者 们 希 望 这 项 公 益 活 动 能 够 为 孩 子 们 提 供 物 质 和 精 神 的 双 重 关 怀 , 传 递 用 爱 点 亮 光 芒 的 美 好 祈愿 , 将 JV 的 志 愿 精 神 传 承 下 去 。The migrant school English teaching volunteer project was firstlaunched in August 2010. This fun English competition is thethird phase of a long-term volunteer program. The competitionis designed to generate interest in learning English, as well asbringing community awareness towards these children. In July2011, this program was granted the “CSR Excellency Award” bythe Shanghai Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment.Enthusiastic GE AVIC JV volunteers successfully held their “Plant Charity Sale” during November 23 to 24, 2011. A totalof 135 volunteers participated in the activity where they sold plants and other floral arrangements to raise money.The charity drive raised over 4,300 RMB. On December 14, 2011, eight volunteers visited the Shanghai Chang LinMigrant School to present the new year’s gifts purchased with money raised from the “Plant Charity Sale” activity.Items purchased included children’s dictionaries, and stationary items such as pens and pencils. A party was held atthe school where the children performed a special sign language song called “Thanks.” GE volunteers strive to worktogether in building stronger communities and help contribute to societal needs.71 LIFE at GELIFE at GE 72
