员 工 天 地 Employee Corner刻 苦 钻 研 , 梅 花 香 自 苦 寒 来 ——“ 专 利 牛 人 ” 熊 日 华Hard Work Yields Success —“P<strong>at</strong>ent Maverick” Xiong Rihua熊 日 华 于 2005 年 加 入 <strong>GE</strong> 中 国 研 发 中 心 , 现 任 <strong>GE</strong> 全 球 研 究 中 心 水 处 理 技 术研 究 室 主 任 研 究 员 。 熊 日 华 主 要 从 事 新 型 水 处 理 技 术 的 研 发 , 先 后 成 为 多 个重 要 研 发 项 目 的 核 心 成 员 , 并 从 2008 年 开 始 担 任 项 目 负 责 人 。 在 加 入 <strong>GE</strong> 至今 六 年 半 的 时 间 里 , 熊 日 华 已 在 水 处 理 新 技 术 等 方 面 申 请 专 利 34 项 , 另 有 4项 专 利 正 在 申 请 过 程 中 , 差 不 多 平 均 每 2 个 月 就 会 申 请 1 项 专 利 。 实 际 上 , 去年 前 九 个 月 中 , 熊 日 华 已 经 申 请 专 利 九 项 , 这 使 得 其 专 利 申 请 速 度 上 升 到 每月 1 项 。 近 日 , 熊 日 华 还 获 得 了 <strong>GE</strong> 中 国 技 术 中 心 2011 年 度 " 技 术 成 就 奖 "。Xiong Rihua joined <strong>GE</strong>’s Global Research Center (GRC) in Shanghai in 2005. He isnow the senior researcher for <strong>GE</strong> W<strong>at</strong>er Tre<strong>at</strong>ment <strong>at</strong> GRC. Xiong is mainly incharge of research and development of w<strong>at</strong>er tre<strong>at</strong>ment technology, and hastaken part in many important projects since 2008. In six and a half years, Xionghas applied for 34 p<strong>at</strong>ents on new technologies involving w<strong>at</strong>er tre<strong>at</strong>ment,with another four in the applic<strong>at</strong>ion process. This means he has applied for an average of one p<strong>at</strong>ent every two months. In the firstnine months of 2011, Xiong applied for nine p<strong>at</strong>ents. In 2011, Xiong was granted the Technical Achievement Award by <strong>GE</strong> CTC.精 湛 技 艺 , 弘 扬 中 华 传 统 文 化 ——“ 家 具 模 型 牛 人 ” 朱 晓 东Promoting Traditional Culture with Exquisite Craftsmanship — “Furniture Models ManufactureMaverick” Zhu Xiaodong朱 晓 东 是 无 锡 <strong>GE</strong> 医 疗 超 声 的 一 名 制 造 技 术 员 。 因 为 近 几 年 对 中 国 传 统 文 化 产 生 了 浓 厚 的 兴 趣 , 朱 晓 东 发 展 出 了 自 己 独特 的 爱 好 —— 制 作 中 国 传 统 家 具 模 型 。 三 年 前 , 朱 晓 东 开 始 了 他 的 传 统 家 具 模 型 制 作 道 路 , 他 给 自 己 定 的 原 则 是 要 最 大程 度 地 尊 重 传 统 家 具 的 结 构 , 力 争 高 仿 原 作 。 至 今 他 已 经 完 成 了 20 多 件 作 品 , 从 简 单 的 板 凳 到 明 式 家 具 中 最 具 制 作 难度 的 圈 椅 。 朱 晓 东 说 , 制 作 家 具 模 型 不 仅 丰 富 了 他 的 业 余 生 活 , 也 有 效 地 减 轻 了 他 的 工 作 压 力 。Zhu Xiaodong is a manufacturing technician in <strong>GE</strong> Healthcare’s ultrasounddepartment. He has also grown <strong>at</strong>tached to China’s traditional culture inrecent years, which has allowed him to develop a new hobby: making Chinesetraditional furniture models. Three years ago, Zhu started making Chinesetraditional furniture, and has tried his best to mimic these traditional furniturepieces. He has finished more than 20 <strong>work</strong>s so far, and his models come inmany styles from the easy-made bench to the round-backed armchair whichis the most difficult to make among Ming-style furniture. All the paintings th<strong>at</strong> were collected werethen published on the micro-blog of the Science Associ<strong>at</strong>ion of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and forwarded by the officialmicro-blog of <strong>GE</strong> CTC, which provoked discussions and <strong>at</strong>tracted more followers.Using 23 cans of paint and 12 paint brushes, students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University drew a large painting on theschool’s wall. The painting depicted a large blue brain full of images about liter<strong>at</strong>ure, art, machines and dreams to illustr<strong>at</strong>ethe students’ <strong>imagin<strong>at</strong>ion</strong> on wh<strong>at</strong> their future lives would hold.On January 6, 20 students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, EastChina University of Science and Technology, and Shanghai Universitywho were actively involved in this activity were invited to visit <strong>GE</strong>CTC.
