The Aliante Steppers performed in Laughlin at Harrah’s Hotel to a packed house in January at the Winter Break Festival. This is a yearly event, when thousands of seniors from all over the country come to entertain and socialize. This is the third year the Steppers have been invited to participate. Veteran’s Pancake Breakfast The Veterans Club held its fundraising Pancake Breakfast on January 14. Fifteen volunteers served up hot cakes, sausage, bacon, juice and coffee and tea for 168 residents. All proceeds went to benefit the USO. New Resident Mixer! More than 75 residents attended the New Resident Mixer, hosted by the Communications Committee and emceed by Gaylynne Schaefer, Chair of the Communications Committee, on January 31. While members of the Board of Directors and staff spoke about the Association’s many programs and services, Guests listen attentively at the New Resident Mixer. Kristi Taylor, (top photo) Aliante Station Casino’s Slot Marketing Coordinator, presents a gift certificate to Cabo Mexican restaurant. guests enjoyed refreshments and won raffle prizes. Representatives from Aliante Station Casino and Hotel were also on hand to welcome new residents and give away gift certificates for food and lodging.

SUN CItY ALIANtE HIGHLIGHtS Free Advertisers Meet ‘n Greet The SCAL Communications Committee hosted a free Meet ‘N Greet with The Breeze advertisers for all residents on January 19 in the Vista Ballroom. This was a unique opportunity for residents to meet with advertisers on an informal basis. Every advertiser offered FREE Prizes and give-a-ways during the event and light refreshments were served. Get Motivated Business Event SCAL residents enjoyed the “Get Motivated Business” event at the Thomas & Mack Center on January 24. This one-day blockbuster event was action-packed, fun-filled, inspiring and skill-building. Residents enjoyed executive seating, while listening to superstar speakers including, General Colin Powell, Lou Holtz, Rudy Giuliani, Howard Putnam, Laura Bush, Rick Belluzzo, Mary Buffett and Terry Bradshaw.
