The competitors were greeted with rain and wind gust up to 30 milesper hour on both S<strong>at</strong>urday and Sunday which made for tough course conditions.Charles Valluzzo of Mt. Pleasant, SC posted impressive rounds of 74 and 75 for a two-day tournament total 149in difficult conditions to win in the Boys 16-19 Division. Mookie DeMoss of Duluth,GA followed up his opening round 73 with a final round 77 th<strong>at</strong> was good enough tohold on to second place. Finishing alone in third place was Hank Haney Intern<strong>at</strong>ional<strong>Junior</strong> <strong>Golf</strong> Academy (HHIJGA) student Miguel Solorzano Amaya of Chiapas, Mexico.Amaya’s impressive final round of 74 not only gave him third place honors but he alsoreceived the coveted low final round belt buckle. Our winner Charles had this to sayabout his victory.“I just want to thank the <strong>IJGT</strong> and the <strong>Wild</strong> <strong>Dunes</strong> staff for keeping the course playable in these toughconditions.”HHIJGA student Kelly Miller of Ceredigion, United Kingdom and fellow HHIJGAstudent Wallis Spears were within one stroke of each other coming into Sunday’s final.Miller came away with the victory after posting a steady round of 75. Spears wouldeventually finish in a tie for second place with yet another HHIJGA student Minami AnnLevonowich of Hilton Head Island, SC who posted rounds of 79 and 80 respectively.Our winner had this to say about her win.“I just want to thank my coaches <strong>at</strong> the Hank Haney Intern<strong>at</strong>ional <strong>Junior</strong> <strong>Golf</strong> Academyfor preparing me to compete this weekend.”In the Boys 13-15 Division, Ben Dietrich of Conover, NC was victorious after shooting rounds of 83 and 77.Dietrich, who <strong>at</strong>tends the Hank Haney Intern<strong>at</strong>ional <strong>Junior</strong> <strong>Golf</strong> Academy, was excitedabout his first win of theseason.JJ Qualkenbush of La Quinta, CA earned his third victory of the season after shootingrounds of 84 and 92. Finishing in second place was Bret Howey ofNazareth, PA.Congr<strong>at</strong>ul<strong>at</strong>ions to Miguel Solorzano Amaya, Ben Dietrich, Kelly Miller, Allison Shilling andJJ Qualkenbush who all received the Low Final Round Belt Buckle.
