© Military Pharmacy and Medicine EDITORIAL POLICY AND GENERAL INFORMATIONEditorial policy and general informationMilitary Pharmacy and Medicine is an international, peer-reviewedscientific journal that publish original articles based on ownresearch, as well as review articles and case reports in the field ofpharmacy and military medicine, and modern solutions in the fieldof military and civilian healthcare based on the latest national andinternational achievements.Military Pharmacy and Medicine is quarterly interdisciplinaryjournal of Military Centre of Pharmacy and Medical Techniquein Celestynów, Poland, published in English on scientific, socioprofessionaland training issues of Military Pharmacy and Medicine.Journal appears continuously and systematically in printed(primary version) and on-line version since 2008 at: http://military.isl-journals.com/and information contained therein are continuouslyupdated, but not less frequently than quarterly.The editors endorse the principles embodied in the Declaration ofHelsinki and expect that all investigations involving humans will havebeen performed in accordance with these principles. For animal experimentationreported in the journal, it is expected that investigators willhave observed the Interdisciplinary Principles and Guidelines for theUse of Animals in Research, Testing, and Education issued by the NewYork Academy of Sciences Adhoc Committee on Animal Research. Allhuman and animal studies must have been approved by the investigator’sInstitutional review board. It is recommended to enclose a copy ofthat document to a submitted manuscript.Editors Military Pharmacy and Medicine in the daily practice refer tothe guidelines of the Committee on Publications Ethics concerningCode of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors(http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines).1. Review process and submission rulesEditors consider only submissions in English. Manuscripts are evaluatedon the basis that they present new insights to the investigatedtopic, are likely to contribute to a research progress or change in clinicalpractice or have the desirable teaching/training value. The correctnessensures Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor, Section Editors, Statistical Editor,reviewers and Linguistic Editors.The signature of the corresponding author on the letter of submissionsignifies that:1) paper is original and created by you (not copied),2) paper has not been published previously or submitted elsewherefor review and a copyright transfer,3) it is understood that all authors listed on a manuscript haveagreed to its submission.Received manuscripts are first examined by the Military Pharmacyand Medicine editors due to preparation of the manuscript, photographicdocumentation, and all authors consent to publication.Manuscripts with insufficient priority for publication are rejectedpromptly. Incomplete packages or manuscripts not prepared in theadvised style will be sent back to authors without scientific review.The authors are notified with the reference number upon manuscriptregistration at the Editorial Office. The registered manuscriptsare sent to at least two independent experts for scientific evaluation.Competent reviewers designate Editor-in-Chief. Reviewers prepareopinions that contain reasoned recommendations and suggestionsof corrections and additions to content and form of the article.http://military.isl-journals.com/In case of papers written in a foreign language at least one of thereviewers is affiliated to a foreign institution. Reviewed paper andreviewers did not come from the same institution.The author and the reviewer are anonymous to each other accordingto double-blind review policy.Rejection requires two negative reviews. Editor-in-Chief reservesthe right to refuse to print a paper containing the results of studies inwhich ethical principles are not respected according to the Declarationof Helsinki in 1964, Tokyo in 1975 and the recommendationsof the World Health Organization in 1982.Submitted papers are accepted for publication after a two positiveopinion of the independent reviewers, who agreed that thepaper can be published in present form. If the reviewers differin their opinions, or feel that the manuscript should be acceptedonly after the corrections, editors may take a decision to sendpaper to another reviewer in order to settle or return it to theauthors for correction.The final decision on acceptance for publication or to reject belongsto competences of the Editorial Board and is not subject to appeal.Editorial Board decisions do not have to justify.The reviewing process usually takes 3-6 weeks, however Editors cannotguarantee the date of publishing.Military Pharmacy and Medicine publishes an updated list of reviewerson the website, as well as an annual list of reviewers in the last issueof the journal (every year).2. Conflict of interestsAuthors should disclose contribution of individual authors to preparationof manuscript (with a list of their affiliations) in detail, i.e.provide information who is the author of concept, premises, methods,protocol etc.Authors of research articles should disclose at the time of submissionany financial arrangement they may have with a companywhose product figures prominently in the submitted manuscriptor with a company making a competing product. Such informationwill be held in confidence while the paper is under reviewand will not influence the editorial decision, but if the article isaccepted for publication, the editors will usually discuss with theauthors the manner in which such information is to be communicatedto the reader.Because the essence of reviews and editorials is selection and interpretationof the literature, the Military Pharmacy and Medicineexpects that authors of such articles will not have any financial interestin a company (or its competitor) that makes a product discussedin the article.Military Pharmacy and Medicine policy requires that reviewers,associate editors, editors, and senior editors reveal in a letter to theEditor-in-Chief any relationships that they have that could be construedas causing a conflict of interest with regard to a manuscriptunder review. The letter should include a statement of any financialrelationships with commercial companies involved with a productunder study.3. PermissionsMaterials taken from other sources must be accompanied by a writtenstatement from both author and publisher giving permissionto the Military Pharmacy and Medicine for reproduction.
