In 2009, PECO hadtotal energy sales of 38,702 GWh—down 3.3percent from 2008. Industrial sales continued todominate PECO's market with 41.1 percent of the total sales, followed by residential (33.3 percent)and commercial (21.7 percent). Average annual use per residential customer was 9,183 kWh at anaverage cost of 14.42 cents per kWh; operating revenues totaled $4.55 billion.Between 1994 and 2009 PECO's energy demand grew an average of 1.0 percent per year.Residential energy sales grew at an annual rate of 1.4 percent, commercial at 2.3 percent andindustrial at 0.1 percent. The current five-year projection of growth in energy demand is 2.0percent. This includes an annual growth rate of 2.0 percent for the residential, commercial andindustrial sectors.
