400.1.53Adopted: 06/14/05ELIZABETH CITY STATE UNIVERSITYFixed Assets- Relocation of University PropertyPersonal Use is ProhibitedPersonal use of State or university owned/leased equipment, supplies or materials is prohibitedwhether on or off campus. All equipment, supplies or materials acquired by the State at theUniversity are considered to be State/university owned.Off-Campus Use Must be ApprovedAnytime faculty or staff members or other authorized persons take University owned/ leasedproperty to residence or to another location for business purposes, it is necessary for acontractual agreement to be executed granting permission for this property to be moved to anoff-campus location. This contractual agreement shall indicate the period of time the property isto be off campus, the location, a description of the specific items involved, the replacement costvalue of the items, and the requirement that all-risk insurance is to be placed by the individualuser if the department does not carry continuous coverage on these pieces of equipment. Therequired coverage can be secured through the Purchasing Office, or may be covered by theindividual's homeowner's policy. Blank contracts are available from the Purchasing Department.The Purchasing Department has the responsibility for the following:(1) Reviewing the contractual agreement to be certain that it contains all thenecessary elements listed above for insurance purposes.(2) Maintaining a copy of the agreement, thus assuring these pieces of equipmentare protected by the same coverage as afforded by the State InsuranceDepartment when the equipment is located on campus.PERMISSION FOR REMOVAL OF UNIVERSITY OWNED PROPERTY CAN BEGRANTED ONLY FOR UNIVERSITY BUSINESS AND NOT FOR PERSONAL USE
