<strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong> Admission RequirementsAll applicants will be reviewed for acceptance to the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong>. The main criteria for acceptance include:1. All pre-requisite courses taken must be completed with a “C” or higher prior to the time <strong>of</strong> review <strong>of</strong> theapplicant’s file for entry into the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong> (students have the option <strong>of</strong> being admitted andsuccessfully completing MTH 2320 General Statistics before their senior year).2. All science pre-requisites must have been completed within the last ten years.3. A minimum grade point average (GPA) <strong>of</strong> 3.0/4.0 scale at <strong>Aurora</strong> <strong>University</strong> or other accredited highereducation institution.4. Earn a satisfactory score on the Test <strong>of</strong> Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). A new TEAS V score isrequired for each application for admission to the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong>.5. An interview may be requested at the discretion <strong>of</strong> the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong> Admissions, Policies, andStandards Committee.6. Applicants who are graduates <strong>of</strong> foreign secondary schools where the primary language is not English mustobtain a composite score <strong>of</strong> at least 550 (or a 213-220) on the computer-based test from the Test <strong>of</strong> Englishas a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or ESL Level 109.7. The Admissions Committee does not deny an applicant because <strong>of</strong> an occasional “W” on their transcript. Ifan applicant has a pattern <strong>of</strong> excessive withdraws and/or course repeats an interview may be requested.8. Students should not have greater than 20 required SH <strong>of</strong> coursework outstanding at the time <strong>of</strong> review<strong>of</strong> the application to the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong>.
