The emitterfollower on the output <strong>of</strong> the output stagepermits rapid blocking <strong>of</strong> the cathodes ontransition from bright to blank. This permits thedelaying effects that are otherwise present tobe reduced.The IC's also contain a component for temperaturedrift compensation, as well as a circuitvia which the transient current can be decoupled.Current information is taken from pin5, and so with an additional sensor controlcircuit an automatic blanking value control (cut<strong>of</strong>f control) can be established.2.9.1 Cut <strong>of</strong>f controlThe cut <strong>of</strong>f control is basically a sensor controlcircuit.
