Northwest TerritoriesHIGHLIGHTS OF ACHIEVEMENTSIN MINORITY-LANGUAGE EDUCATIONNorthwest Territories’ achievements in minority-language education,between 2005–06 and 2008–09, included the following outcomessupported by federal–territorial funding arrangements:• Enrolment in the territory’s French-language schools increasedfrom 143 students from kindergarten to Grade 11 in April 2005to 193 students in March 2009.• The French-language school board hired two teachers responsiblefor providing a student support program. These teachers offeredservices to students with special physical, academic, or behaviouralneeds. The board was also able to hire a person responsible forpedagogy in its two schools.
