General in<strong>for</strong>mation<br />

Tri-city (Polish Trójmi<strong>as</strong>to) is an urban area located in nor<strong>the</strong>rn <strong>Poland</strong>, on <strong>the</strong> co<strong>as</strong>t of <strong>the</strong> Baltic<br />

Sea, consisting of three cities: Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot. Gdańsk h<strong>as</strong> always been one of<br />

<strong>the</strong> main ports and thriving trade centers in Europe with its greatest glory in <strong>the</strong> sixteenth and<br />

seventeenth century. Sopot became a summer resort <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> richest citizens and w<strong>as</strong> later<br />

trans<strong>for</strong>med into a famous spa. Gdynia is also an important port city, developed between <strong>the</strong><br />

First and Second World Wars.<br />
