Poznań is located at <strong>the</strong> crossroad of major pan-European transportation routes running from<br />

e<strong>as</strong>t to west and north to south. The city offers also a well-developed railway network adjusted<br />

to meet European standards. Infr<strong>as</strong>tructure development is likely to speed up in upcoming<br />

years <strong>as</strong> Poznań is scheduled to host matches of EURO 2012.<br />

Real estate<br />

The number of private accommodations available on <strong>the</strong> primary market in mid-2008 reached<br />

3,500 and <strong>the</strong>re are over 3,000 more currently being constructed. However, <strong>as</strong> <strong>the</strong> demand<br />

is currently relatively low, many developers have decided to lower prices. The office market<br />

in Poznań seems to be developing slower than in o<strong>the</strong>r major cities in <strong>Poland</strong>, despite very<br />

strong demand reflected by a low vacancy rate. According to estimates, <strong>the</strong> figure is not<br />

likely to incre<strong>as</strong>e <strong>as</strong> it h<strong>as</strong> become common practice on <strong>the</strong> Poznań market <strong>for</strong> companies to<br />

reserve office space prior to its completion. Most of <strong>the</strong> office buildings in Poznań are situated<br />

in <strong>the</strong> city centre with proximity to <strong>the</strong> main railway station and <strong>the</strong> Poznań International Fairs.<br />

According to real estate agencies, <strong>the</strong> majority of demand <strong>for</strong> office space in Poznań is being<br />

created by BPO centers <strong>as</strong> well <strong>as</strong> companies from financial and business services sectors.<br />
