IPLOCA and S&N International look forward toorganising and facilitating this training for you.Who is it for?Specifically designed for project managers in the Pipeline and OffshoreContractors business, this training will help you communicate in complex,cultural environments. You are confronted daily with many differentmulticultural environments and may sometimes experience difficultyreaching and/or influencing work goals in these situations.Objectives of the trainingThe desired key outcomes of the training are an improvement ineffective communication and an improved influence over complex andmulticultural situations in the diverse projects that you manage.Furthermore, this training will equip you with skills that will benefit youin new cultural and challenging situations.What can you expect?This is a two-day training programme. The training will start at 9:00 eachmorning and will finish on Day 1 at 20:00 followed by dinner. Day 2 willfinish around 17:00 after which participants can travel back home.The topics that will be covered on Day 1 are: Setting Goals and Expectations The Importance of Perception Fundamentals of Communication Skills Introduction to Intercultural Communication Problem Solving and Giving/receiving FeedbackPage 1 of 3

The topics that will be covered on Day 2 are: Review Day 1 The Intercultural Readiness Check (IRC) Non Verbal Communication Leary’s Rose Action & Follow-up Planning EvaluationThe programme will be well balanced with theory and practical exercises.About two to three weeks before the commencement of the training eachparticipant needs to perform some pre-work in the form of filling in anonline questionnaire (IRC) and an E-learning module on Leary’s Rose. Atthe end of the training each participant will receive a transfer coachingsession of 1 hour. More information and instructions will follow after youhave registered.FacilitatorsStephanie Wiesmann is a facilitator of professionaldevelopment in communication skills and teamwork.Trained as an organizational psychologist (MSc),Stephanie worked as a freelance training manager forleadership programs of the European School ofManagement and Technology (ESMT, Berlin). She is in theprocess of completing her PhD thesis at the University ofUtrecht on couples’ decision-making processes withregard to their division of paid work and care. Herspecialty is the transfer of scientific knowledge to training. While born andraised in Northern Germany, she studied psychology in Nijmegen, theNetherlands, and Berkeley, California. She has lived in the Netherlands for11 years, and is a member of the S&N International team.Sylla M. Pahladsingh has 18 years of internationalexperience working as a trainer and adviser in the field ofcapacity building of professionals and organisations. Herwork has dealt with all stages of the learning process,from learning needs assessment, design, implementationto evaluation of adult learning and organisationaldevelopment programmes. She has a postgraduatedegree in Management of Knowledge Systems and aMaster’s Degree in the International Management ofNatural Resources from Wageningen University, theNetherlands. Born in the Netherlands, of a Surinamese-Indian father anda Dutch mother, Sylla has lived for extended periods in Asia, Africa andLatin America. Additional informationDress code for this training is business casual. Travel and accommodationmust be arranged by the participant. It is expected that the participantwill arrive at the training location the night before the start of the training.This is essential to ensure a prompt start at 9:00 on the 4 th of November2010.The fee for this training is € 1500,- per participant, including pre-seminarassessments, materials and meals (coffee breaks, lunch and dinner on day1 and coffee breaks and lunch on day 2).
