Hello everyone,I would like <strong>to</strong> thank everyone that showed up at the Corvette Cupin Columbia. The Club had 19 registered vehicles. This is <strong>our</strong> bestshowing yet. We should be proud. There is a good chance we hadthe largest Club participation at the event. It was a great day withperfect weather.Now that we are in<strong>to</strong> spring we should have plenty <strong>to</strong> do. Keep aneye on the <strong>club</strong> calendar as we are adding new events everymonth.On April 23 rd there will be the KSHE car show at GatewayNational Raceway. We have a group leaving Noah’s Ark at8:00am <strong>for</strong> this event. Last year we won <strong>club</strong> participation withabout 15 or 16 cars. Should be a great event at the race track.I would like <strong>to</strong> say a special good bye <strong>to</strong> Linda Ericksen who willbe leaving the U.S. <strong>for</strong> a year <strong>to</strong> serve over in Persian GulfRegion. Noel <strong>and</strong> Jeff A. attended. PERE MARQUETTE car cruisewas on March 18th. A group from a local car <strong>club</strong> organized the gathering at Fastlane Classic Cars. We <strong>to</strong>okHwy. 94 <strong>to</strong> Hwy. 367, across the Clark Bridge, then down the Great River Road in Illinois <strong>to</strong> Pere Marquette statepark <strong>for</strong> lunch. It was around 90 miles round trip. CORVETTE CUP: We had 19 registered cars <strong>and</strong> 2 others thatshowed up <strong>for</strong> part of the day. Absolutely perfect day. Around 82 degrees <strong>and</strong> sunny all day. Rik Thompson wonfirst place. There was a good auction. MIDWEST REGION: Paul & Bridget Balkenbush won shirts. Rod McCoywon cert. For 6 th out of 8NEW BUSINESS; April 8 th O’FALLON BREWERY TOUR, 1:00pm, meet at QT at T.R. Hughes <strong>and</strong> I-70 at12:30pm. Leaving from Eureka Mc<strong>Don</strong>alds 9:30am.June 11 th Vettes car show, Joe Anelle suggested we make up dash plates <strong>for</strong> <strong>our</strong> goody bags at $1.25 each. Themotion was seconded <strong>and</strong> passed. Jeff Meywes daughter is a cheerleader that will have an event at the SavvasCenter, they would like 8 Corvettes <strong>to</strong> escort the cheerleaders on <strong>to</strong> the field. Jeff will get more in<strong>for</strong>mation bynext meeting.ANNOUNCEMENTS: Charlie Miget received a check <strong>for</strong> Route 66 Corvette Club from <strong>Feld</strong> <strong>Chevrolet</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Don</strong><strong>Trunko</strong> in the amount of $1000.00. Rik Thompson announced this will be Linda Eriksens last meeting, as she isgoing <strong>to</strong> server the next year in the Persian Gulf Region <strong>for</strong> <strong>our</strong> country.
