Entrepreneurial Clusters in China and Mexico –implications for Competitiveness84 NOTES: The following explanations are nee<strong>de</strong>d regarding the creation of the 100 base in<strong>de</strong>xes:• For the In<strong>de</strong>x of Education of the World Bank: 100 is the maximum possible in the in<strong>de</strong>x,in this case that is 10.• For the number of patents created in the year of the US Patent and Tra<strong>de</strong>mark Office: 100is the maximum of patents registered by the countries inclu<strong>de</strong>d in the sample, which in thiscase was USA with 77,501 patents.• For the Capacity of Innovation of the World Bank: 100 is the maximum possible, whichfor this in<strong>de</strong>x is 10.• For the public expenditure in education as % of the GDP of the UNDP: the maximum investmentin education insi<strong>de</strong> the sample is Mexico with 25.6 %, which is taken as base 100.• For the Indicator of the Social Knowledge of the World Bank: 100 is the maximum possible,which for this in<strong>de</strong>x is 10.• For the In<strong>de</strong>x of Global Competitiveness of the Economic World Forum: 100 is the maximumpossible, which for this in<strong>de</strong>x is 7.• For the Levels of Productivity of the International Labor Organization: 248, the maximuminsi<strong>de</strong> the sample for productivity, is the base 100. In this in<strong>de</strong>x there was no data for India,so the blank was filled with information taken from the Global Competitiveness Report.
