Health and Family Welfare and AYUSH 115<strong>Eleventh</strong> <strong>Five</strong> <strong>Year</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> Agenda3.2.31 Successful implementation of the abovementionedinitiatives will enable AYUSH systems tocontribute significantly to the health care of populationwhile being an integral component of the healthcare system of our country.3.2.32 The key interventions and strategies in the<strong>Eleventh</strong> <strong>Five</strong> <strong>Year</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> are enumerated below:• Documenting measurable outputs for annual planas well as for the five year plans that will facilitatedesigning and implementing systematic ME systems.• Training in Public Health for AYUSH personnel isenvisaged as an essential part of education andCME.• Mainstreaming the system of AYUSH in NationalHealth Care Delivery System by co-locating AYUSHfacilities in primary health network.• Restructuring Public Health Management to integrateAYUSH practitioners into the national healthcare system.• Formulating a two-tiered research frameworkfor AYUSH to interface with modern sciencewhile giving due cognizance and importance todevelopment and application of theoretical foundationsof the traditional knowledge systems andpractices.• Promoting scientific validation of AYUSH principles,remedies, and therapies.• Revitalizing, documenting, and validating localhealth traditions of AYUSH.• Improving the status of pharmacopoeial standardsby setting up Pharmacopoeia Commission.• Improving the status of quality of clinical servicesby creating specialty AYUSH Secondary and TertiaryCare Centres.• Upgrading AYUSH undergraduate and postgraduateeducational institutions by better regulationand establishing a system for NET type testing ofAYUSH teachers and NAAC type assessment andaccreditation of AYUSH undergraduate/postgraduatecolleges.• Ensuring conservation of medicinal plants genepools as well as promoting cultivation of species inhigh trade and establishment of medicinal plantsprocessing zones.• Strengthening regulatory mechanism for ensuringquality control, R&D, and processing technology involvingaccredited laboratories in the governmentand non-government sector.• Establishing Centres of Excellence.• Promoting international co-operation in research,education, health services, and trade, and marketdevelopment.• Digitizing India’s vast corpus of medical manuscriptsin collaboration with the National ManuscriptsMission.• Promoting public awareness about the strengthsand contemporary relevance of AYUSH throughIEC.
