Alcolyzer WineAlcohol Meter for Wine::: Unique Density & Concentration Meters

Alcolyzer WineAlcohol Meter For WineThe determination of alcohol is common practice formanufacturers of wine, cider and related products.Knowledge of the alcohol content is an importantparameter for production surveillance and quality control. Some methods for alcohol analysis, e.g. enzymaticmethods, are inaccurate. Other methods, such asdistillation, are not very popular with customersworldwide as they are time consuming and require a lotof experience. Extensive cleaning of the equipment isoften required between sample measurements, makingprocedures even more cumbersome and complex.Anton Paar developed the Alcolyzer Wine tomake these problems a thing of the past.Increased efficiency – advanced performanceThe Alcolyzer Wine from Anton Paar uses a patentedmethod (US 6,690,015; AT 406711) based on Near Infraredspectroscopy to determine the alcohol content in a highlyalcohol-specific range. For this reason, the other constituentsof the beverage do not influence the result. This means, thedetermination of white or red wine, sweet or dry wine, can allbe done with one adjustment! As the Alcolyzer Wine is product autonomous, it allows you awide range of applications without the need of labor-intensivecalibration and numerous calibration standards. With theAlcolyzer Wine, adjustment is a simple task. Just check theAlcolyzer Wine daily with distilled water, occasionally withan ethanol/water mixture, adjust if necessary, and optimumresults are guaranteed. The Alcolyzer Wine is ready foroperation after a 10 minute start-up time so you don’t wasteany valuable measuring time for extended start-up periods.Elegant.Relevant.Significant.

Alcohol Determination –Effortless and ExactSimple, fast and accurate determination of the alcoholcontent of alcoholic beverages is very important for theirmaking, blending, trading and labelling.Traditional analysis methods such as distillation or GC aretime consuming and require experienced operators. Othermethods such as the combined density and refractive indexmethod or boiling point determination tend to be inaccuratebecause the underlying measuring properties are nonspecificto alcohol. The accuracy of the above mentioned methods can bedifficult to maintain and repeatability is often at unacceptablelevels. Compared to distillation, the acknowledged referencemethod for alcohol determination at present, the AlcolyzerWine achieves accuracies of ± 0.1 % v/v alcohol andrepeatabilities of ± 0.01 % v/v alcohol.Alcolyzer Wine + SF-1Selective alcohol determinationA highly alcohol-specific range of the spectrum wasidentified between 1150 and 1200 nm. The evaluationmethod uses the significant alcohol peak in this areaand two spectral points very close to it for defining thebaseline. Extensive investigations showed that the alcoholresults based on this type of evaluation are virtually freeof influences from other known wine constituents. Thisallows adjustments to be done simply with water forthe zero point and one binary ethanol/water mixture. The Alcolyzer Wine utilizes an optical set-up withoutany moving parts. The instrument consists of a NearInfrared Light Emitting Diode, a condenser lens, asample cell, a collimator lens to focus the parallel beamand a grating spectrometer with a detector array. Theabsorption information read by the detector array isused to determine the alcohol content of the sample.A measurement is carried out in less than one minute! The Alcolyzer Wine has a built-in Peltier thermostatto ensure accurate and automatic control of thetemperature in best time. Consequently, there is no needfor manual temperature adjustment and correction.

Experts at WorkThe Alcolyzer Wine measures the alcohol contentof wine, sparkling wine, cider, fermenting must, ricewine and alcopops. It detects the alcohol contentreliably and highly accurately, and is independent ofvintages, regions and products!Minimum sample preparation, minimum samplevolume and minimum measuring time ensure ahigh throughput of samples per hour. As completelydifferent samples, e.g. red and white wine, can bemeasured immediately after one another withoutcarry-over effects, no time-consuming cleaningroutines between samples are required.Independent of vintage.Independent of product composition. No extensive calibration required.Always ready for measurements.Alcolyzer Wine + DMA 4500 + SP-1mComfortable operation4 The display is large, bright and easy to read4 A keyboard and/or bar code reader can beconnected for comfortable sample identification4 The alcohol content in %v/v is measured at oneset temperature and can be displayed at fourtemperatures: 15 °C (59 °F), 20 °C (68 °F), 25 °C(77 °F) and 60 °F (15.56 °C)4 You define what is calculated, displayed, stored orprinted out4 Up to 100 measuring results can be stored in theinternal data memory and transferred to a PC orLIMS at any time4 Password protection is available4 The measuring cell of the Alcolyzer Wine can befilled with samples either by syringe, peristalticpump or automatic sample changerEasy to use data processing software free ofcharge!AP-SoftPrint is a Microsoft Excel Add-In for readingout measuring results and status messages from yourAlcolyzer Wine.AP-SoftPrint in combination with Microsoft Excelallows electronic storage of your measuring datainstead of sending them to a printer. The program isavailable to users of Anton Paar laboratory meters. Itis license-free and free of charge.

The DMA 4500density meter is especially suited for routine work. Wheneven higher accuracy is required, the DMA 5000 is theideal choice. To minimize bench space, the Alcolyzer Wineis positioned on top of the density meter.SF-1 Sample filling unitThe SF-1 utilizes an integrated peristaltic pump for fillingand replacing samples. The samples can be measureddirectly out of the bottle. The SF-1 is especially designed for the stand-alone version.Pre-installation and retrofitting are possible upon request.SP-1m Sample changerDelegate the daily routine of the sample filling procedure toan SP-1m sample changer so you can give your attentionto other tasks! Connection of the SP-1m sample changerallows automatic filling of up to 24 samples.
