The event shall be conducted under the International Sporting Code of the National CompetitionRules of C.A.M.S., the <strong>Off</strong> <strong>Road</strong> Standing <strong>Regulations</strong>, Queensland <strong>Off</strong>-<strong>Road</strong> Championship<strong>Regulations</strong>, North Queensland <strong>Off</strong>-<strong>Road</strong> Series Prize Money and Scoring Agreement, these<strong>Supplementary</strong> <strong>Regulations</strong> and any Additional <strong>Regulations</strong> or Instructions, which may be issued.2. The 2005 event will be a round of the Queensland <strong>Off</strong> <strong>Road</strong> Championship, Queensland <strong>Off</strong> <strong>Road</strong>Drivers Series & North Queensland <strong>Off</strong> <strong>Road</strong> Series. This long course event will be 4 heats of 3continuous laps conducted anti-clockwise over an approximate 15.2 Kilometre course, on Councilproperty at Moranbah. The Course map is attached to these <strong>Supplementary</strong> <strong>Regulations</strong>.5. The Event is scheduled to commence at approximately 7am, Saturday, 30 th April, 2005 and willfinish at approximately 4pm, Sunday 1st May, 2005. Trophy presentations will be on Sundayevening.

Entries will open upon publication of these <strong>Supplementary</strong> <strong>Regulations</strong> to the first 30 correctentries and will close on the Friday 22 nd April, 2005, unless prior arrangement is made with theEvent Secretary. The event is open to all CAMS affiliated club members. The Race Entry fee is$150.00 inc. all Levies. All entries received before closing date will be placed into a draw for thechance for one (1) entry to receive a refund of their nomination. Entry forms must be completed infull and accompanied by the entry fee and lodged to the “Event Secretary, Moranbah <strong>Off</strong> <strong>Road</strong> Club,P.O. Box 127, Moranbah QLD 4744”. The organisers reserve the right to cancel the Event ifinsufficient entries are received.Any request for a withdrawal of entry must be in writing and received by Wednesday 27 th of April2005.7. Scrutineering will commence from 3pm Friday in the pit area and conclude no later than 10pmFriday, Scrutineering may be available on Saturday morning if prior arrangements are made withEvent Organisers. All competitors cars will be scrutineered at the event. No regional Scrutineeringwill be accepted. Pre-race technical queries can be directed to Reg Abbott - Ph. (07) 49416919• CAMS Log Book will be presented to the Scrutineer prior to entering the track. The Chief Stewardwill hold Log Books & Licenses until the end of the event.• All drivers apparel (helmets, overalls, footwear, gloves etc.) must be presented for inspection andapproval.• Race numbers, advertising signs, communication devices must be in position.• Any car, which after scrutineering is dismantled or modified in any way might affect the safety of thevehicle or raises questions as to its eligibility, or is involved in an accident having similar results,must be submitted for re-Scrutineering.• Any car may be prohibited from practice or racing for safety reasons.• The Race Director may direct any car involved in an incident to be stopped and re-scrutineeredduring or after the race.Important notice: Only persons holding a valid civil driver’s license may drive or be in control of avehicle in a “public place” the only part of the circuit which is not a “public place” is the race track,access roads and in the pits.8. If any driver/navigator is under Eighteen (18) years of age, the consent of his/her parent/guardianmust appear on the entry form.9. The age limit for drivers to be allowed to compete in the Event is Sixteen (16) years of age, but, alicensed navigator, of at least Seventeen (17) years of age, must accompany them. The age limit fornavigator is Fourteen (14) years of age.10. The event shall be open to holders of a CAMS <strong>Off</strong> <strong>Road</strong> License or higher who are current financialmembers of a club affiliated with CAMS. Appropriate licenses must be produced at Administrationand/or Scrutineering and on request during the event.11. The Driver’s and Navigator’s Briefing is Compulsory. All Drivers & Navigators will report tothe Club House for the briefing at 7.00am on Saturday 30 th April, 2005 and shall sign-in, failure todo so will result in exclusion from the competition. All Competitor’s will be permitted to complete asingle Reconnaissance (or look) Lap immediately following the Briefing at approx 7:30am. Thelook-lap shall occur at a controlled speed.

The event shall consist of a shortened Prologue lap of approx 6.5 km to begin at 8:00am and twoheats of three continuous laps to commence at 9 am, Saturday, 30 th April, 2005 and two heats ofthree continuous laps to commence at 8 am, Sunday, 30 th April, 2005. Alterations to the programmeincluding a decrease in number of laps are solely at the discretion of the Race Director.Prologue starting order will be Class 1,9,2,3,4,6,8,7,5. However, all P-plate drivers should orderthemselves to the back of the field for the Prologue lap.An official running order will be made from the time results of the Prologue lap. Appeals on runningpositions or issues with double booking drivers in one car should be directed to the Race Director fora binding decision.13. Prize money and Trophies will be presented (subject to nominations) to 1 st , 2 nd & 3 rd Drivers andNavigators in each Class. Trophies will be presented to Outright 1 st , 2 nd & 3 rd Drivers andNavigators. To classify for prize money drivers must complete all laps.14. Classes - Class 1 - Buggy (1650-6000cc)Class 2 - Buggy (1330-1650cc)Class 3 - Buggy (up to 1330cc)Class 4 - Modified 2 wheel drive and BajaClass 5 - Production 2 Wheel DrivesClass 6 - Challenger Buggy (up to 1650cc)Class 7 - Production 4 Wheel DrivesClass 8 - Modified 4 Wheel DrivesClass 9 - Buggy (single seater)15. Timing will be by means of elapsed time. All competitors have a time limit of Eighty (80) minutesto complete each heat (three laps). Failure to complete the heat in this time will count as a D.N.F.All official timing will be with stop watches with times recorded to nearest 0.1 second.16. Any protests must be lodged in accordance with the regulations as per the CAMS manual. The RaceDirector shall be contacted as soon as possible after completion of the aggrieved competitors lap.Any appeals must be formally lodged in writing with the Race Director within 30 minutes of theconclusion of racing on the day of the incident.17. The consumption of alcohol or drugs by drivers, crew and other officials is forbidden. Consumptionof alcohol in the pit area, racetrack, paddock and other non-public areas is forbidden until theconclusion of the <strong>Racing</strong>. Disqualification is the penalty for this. The Race Director reserves theright to conduct Alcohol testing as per CAMS standards.18. Safety - Drivers1. Helmet which complies with A.S. 1698 - 1974 and carries markings to that effect, orotherwise specifically approved by CAMS. Goggles to be worn with open face helmets.2. Non-flammable clothing, covering from neck to ankles and to wrists.3. Footwear – covered shoes or boots.


Page 5 of 8MORANBAH 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY30 th April & 1 st May 200519 Safety - CarsThe attention of competitors is drawn to Section 6 of the CAMS Manual in which all vehiclesrequirements are listed in detail. The following should be specially noted.1. All vehicles must have a battery marker - Blue Triangle 150mm dimensions.2. CAMS approved Safety nets or arm restraints fitted to all open cars.3. Fire extinguishers must be securely fitted to all vehicles. A current Test Tag to be affixed.The total capacity of the extinguisher(s) must be a minimum of 1.8kg.4. Closed cars must race with cab windows wound up.5. Two independent fastening systems of limited extensibility on rear hinged bonnets(Additional to normal locking mechanism and safety catch)6. Reconditioned tyres may be permitted at the discretion of the Scrutineer.7. Tubeless tyres may be permitted at the discretion of the Scrutineer.8. Fuel must be commercial pump fuel.9. All vehicles must be fitted with working stop and amber dust lights.10. All vehicles must be fitted with suitable headlamps.11. All vehicles must have a rear vision mirror.12. Roll bars/cage must be fitted and comply with CAMS requirements.13. Brakes and steering must be in good working order.14. All vehicles must carry a securely fitted First Aid Kit.15. All vehicles must be fitted with CAMS approved safety harness/belts.16. All vehicles must be stamped with Chassis Number as per CAMS.20. PenaltiesAny competitor who is deemed by an official to be taking a shortcut shall be penalised 30 minutesnotwithstanding any additional penalty. In addition, any competitor found to be responsible fordeliberate damage to property shall be liable to a penalty of exclusion, notwithstanding anyadditional penalty which may be imposed by the Stewards.No speeding in the pits will be tolerated. A penalty of 30 seconds will be imposed.All competitors must abide by the speed limit (1 st gear idle only) in the start line safety zone. Penaltywill be at the discretion of the Stewards.All competitors will adhere to the conditions of this Long Course <strong>Off</strong>-<strong>Road</strong> Event. Failure to do so willresult in disqualification. No refund of entry fee will be given under these circumstances.ALL COMPETITORS PARTICIPATE ENTIRELY AT THEIR OWN RISK.
