TARIFF FOR BAGASSE BASED CO-GENPLANTS• Tariff Order No. 7 of 2012 dated 31 - 07 – 2012 for Bagasse based Co-generationplants• Fixed costs : Ranges from Rs 2.11 / unit in the 1st year to Rs 1.79 in the 20th year• The Commission has considered a reduction of 10% in the fixed costs forapportioning the FCC between co-gen and sugar mills for use of steam in sugar mills.Consequently, the fixed costs have been reduced to Rs 1.90 / unit in the 1st year toRs 1.61 / unit in the 20th year.• Variable Costs: The Commission has fixed the variable cost for the financial year2012-13 as Rs.1.86 per unit., The price for FY 2013-14 will be decided as and whenthe Government announces the sugar price for the next year. The same would thenbe adopted by the Commission.• Therefore, total cost for bagasse based plants for FY 2012-13 : Rs 3.76 / unit.


TARIFF FOR BIOMASS , BIOGAS PLANTS• Tariff Order No. 8 of 2012 dated 31 - 07 – 2012 forBiomass plantsFixed costs : Ranges from Rs 1.66 / unit in the 1st year to Rs 1.58in the 20th yearVariable Costs: The Commission has fixed the variable cost for thefinancial year 2012-13 as Rs.3.036 per unit and Rs 3.188 / unit forFY 2013-14Therefore, the total cost of biomass based plants for FY 2012-13will be Rs 4.694 / unit.• Tariff for biogas plants using poultry and sago waste isto be notified by the Commission


SOLAR TARIFF – PHOTOVOLTAIC• Commission has notified tariff for Solar PV Projectscovered by Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission videOrder No 1 of 2010 dated 27 th May 2010.• Cost plus Single part levellised tariff for 25 years : Rs18.45 / unit• Net applicable tariff ( on adjusting for accelerateddepreciation benefit, if availed) : Rs 14.34 / unit


SOLAR TARIFF – THERMAL• Commission has notified tariff for Solar Thermal Projects coveredby Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission vide Order No 2 of 2010dated 8 th July 2010• Cost plus Single part levellised tariff for 25 years : Rs 15.51 / unit• Net applicable tariff ( on adjusting for accelerated depreciationbenefit, if availed) : Rs 12.16 / unit• The existing capacity of solar projects in Tamil Nadu : 16 MW• As and when solar policy is released, Commission will take furtheraction for making enabling provisions
