DSE 5xxx Configuration Software ManualPlant Battery FunctionPlant Battery Overvolts Plant Battery Overvolts - = High Plant voltage trip will NOT give a warning alarm = High Plant voltage WILL give a warning alarm in the event of thegenerator plant batery voltage rising above the displayed ‘High voltagealarm’ value. The ‘high voltage alarm’ value can be adjusted to suit userrequirements.Should the input rise above this value the module will initiate the highvoltage delay timer, if the voltage remains high and the timer expires, ahigh voltage warning will be given.Charge AlternatorFailureThe voltage must return to below the ‘high voltage return’ seting beforethe 52xx/53xx module will consider that it is back with in limits.(i.e. With a HV trip of 27.0V and a HV return of 25.0V, the plant voltagemust return to 25.0V following a high voltage event to be consideredwithin limits.)Charge Alternator Failure - = Charge alternator low voltage will NOT give a warning alarm = Charge alternator low voltage WILL give a warning alarm in theevent of the charge alternator voltage faling below the displayed ‘Chargefail alarm’ value. The ‘Charge Fail alarm’ value can be adjusted to suituser requirements.As the input is a true analogue value total failure of the charge alternatoris not the only failure that the module will provide protection for. Faultsthat cause the output voltage to fall, such as worn brushes etc., will causethe alarm to operate.The voltage must return to above the ‘Charge Fail return’ seting beforethe 52xx/53xx module will consider that it is back with in limits.NOTE:- If this input is not used ensure that this setting is setto to prevent the possibility of a spurious Charge Fail Alarmoccurring.56DSE 5xxx Configuration software ISSUE 2 02/07/04 AM
DSE 5xxx Configuration Software Manual3.9 EDIT SCHEDULERThis menu allows the scheduled run event to be configured. These events will automatically startand run the generator at a given time for a given duration. This function can be used to provide aregular generator exercise feature.EDIT SCHEDULER TABNOTES1. The 52xx/53xx Module wil only respond to a scheduled run events if in the ‘auto’mode. The engine will only be started if there are no shutdown alarms present.2. Should the module not be able to run when a scheduled event is called the eventwill not be cancelled but will remain active for the duration configured. Thereforeshould the module be restored to a condition where it can run, it will act inaccordance with the scheduled run settings.3. If the ‘Auto restore inhibit’ input is active and an ‘on-load scheduled run‘ isrequested the generator will start and take load. However at the end of thescheduled run the generator wil remain running on-load until the ‘Auto restoreinhibit’ input is de-activated.4. It is recommended that an LCD/LEDis configured to indicate ‘Caling for ScheduledRun’ to avoid operator confusion as to why the genset may be running for whatappears to be no reason.DSE5xxx Configuration software ISSUE 2 02/07/04 AM 57
