DSE 5xxx Configuration Software ManualItemAC OptionsFunctionThese settings are used to detail the type of AC system to which the moduleis connected:-AC system -1 phase 2 wire - (L + N)2 phase 3 wire –(L1 + L2 + N)3 phase 3 wire –(L1 + L2 +L3)3 phase 4 wire –(L1 + L2 +L3 +N)VT RatioThese settings enable the controller to be configured to accept connection tothe secondary winding of Voltage Transformers (V.T.’s, sometimes caledPotential Transformers orP.T.’s) = Voltage transformers are NOT used. = Voltage transformers are used to step down the generator output to alevel that can be accepted by the 52xx/53xx controller.Primary VoltageThe actual system voltage or output from the generator (ie 11,000 V AC phph)Secondary VoltageThe output from the voltage transformer secondary winding. Ie 110 V AC phph. This level must be below the VT primary voltage and within the generatorand mains/utility (5220/5320) specification of the controller. For furtherdetails on this, see section entitled ‘Specification’NOTE:- When VTs are used, the voltages displayed by the52xx/53xx controller may be very large. To allow them to bedisplayed, the values displayed are in kilovolts (kV, or thousands ofvolts).Example : 52xx controller displaying 14.7 kV AC ph-ph (14700 VAC)Starting Options Number of Start attempts -This value is the number of times the module will attempt to start thegenerator. Should the generator start, the module will not attempt furtherstarts. If the generator does not start after the final attempt, the module willgive a ‘Fail to start’ alarm.16DSE 5xxx Configuration software ISSUE 2 02/07/04 AM
