DSE 5xxx Configuration Software ManualWrite to Controller:- This is used to write a new configuration to the module. To write to themodule it must be connected to the PC via the 810 interface and be fed from a suitable DCsupply. Additionally the module must be in the correct operating mode in order for reconfigurationto be accepted.When communicating with an RS232 or RS485 enabled 52xx/53xx controller, a connection to themodule must first be made using the Connect button. For details of configuring thecommunications options, see section entitled “Setup this software”.If a module security PIN number has been set, this will be asked for and must be correctly enteredbefore the configuration file will be sent to the controller.Should the module not be ready to receive data i.e. generator not at rest in stop mode, thesoftware senses that the engine is running and a message at the bottom of the screen will bedisplayed. Steps should then be taken to ensure that the engine is at rest and the module is in the‘STOP’ mode before atempting to write to the module.Exit:- This is used to exit the 5xxx series software and return to windows. If any configurationfiles are open which have not been saved, the software will query if it is OK to continue or if theyneed to be saved.NOTE:- The supplied configuration file 5310NFPA.mcf/5320NFPA.mcf containssetup information for the expansion outputs, designed to operate the 549 NFPA110annunciator module in conjunction with the P130 input expansion module.For further information on the P130 and P549 modules, please see the DSE manualentitled P130 input expansion module/P549 remote annunciator Operators Manual.12DSE 5xxx Configuration software ISSUE 2 02/07/04 AM
