Standard digestion programmesStandard programmes for routine digestionshelp prevent operating errors. The Spectroquant ®thermoreactor family features five standardprogrammes for day-to-day routine processes:• 148°C, 120 min for COD• 120°C, 120 min for TOC• 120°C, 60 min for total nitrogen, total contentof Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Cd, Fe, and Zn• 120°C, 30 min for AOX and total phosphorus, cyanide• 100°C, 60 min for AgOrdering informationCat. Higherdigestion temperatures are thus not appropriatein this case. The conventional boiling time is120 minutes: however, as practical experimentshave shown, most wastewater samples arealready adequately digested within the spaceof just 20 minutes.Besides the standard method we therefore offera COD rapid-digestion method that has thefollowing advantages:• Standard-compliant digestion temperature(148°C)• No additional investments are necessary, since standard thermoreactors can be used.• Depending on the number of samples, theuser can choose between thermoreactors withtwelve or 24 wells, meaning that a largenumber of samples can be processed simultaneously.Further details and an extensive description aregiven in the COD rapid-digestion applicationdata sheet, available on request.151 min120 minChoose between the standard methodand the COD rapid-digestion method51 min20 minStandard methodCOD rapid-digestionmethodMeasuring timeCooling timeDigestion time21
