The test kitsSimply comprehensive.No matter whether drinking water, surface water,process water, municipal or industrial wastewater, waterrun-offs from waste dumps, waste, or soil is involved –over 130 different Spectroquant ® test kits and numerousapplications are available as competent solutions allprovided by one supplier. The scope of parameters isfinely tuned to the requirements of everyday practiceand is constantly extended further still.Ease of use, excellent descriptions of the workingsteps, and thus safe in their application –these are the characteristic features of theSpectroquant ® test kits. We’ve even taken careof the calibration for you: all test kits are preprogrammedin the photometers.Validation gives you that sense of securityAll Spectroquant ® analysis methods are validated,which means that the quality is definedand secured. Sum parameterssuch as COD are conventional parameters. Thechemistry contained in Spectroquant ® productsconforms with the relevant standards and bearsthe “USEPA Approved” seal of quality issued bythe US Environmental Protection Agency. Thedivision into seven different measuring rangesfor COD enables you to obtain accurate resultswithout having to dilute your samples.Nutrientssuch as nitrogen and phosphorus play anessential role in all types of water. The samplepreparationprocedure necessary to determinethe total concentrations is already integratedin the Spectroquant ® cell test.Hazardous substancessuch as cadmium, lead, chromate, and cyanidemust be determinable even in the smallest tracequantities – another task readily accomplishedby the Spectroquant ® test kits.Heavy metalsmust be detected in the wastewater emanatingfrom electroplating and textile-processingfacilities. The correct sample pretreatment playsan essential role here. Spectroquant ® crack setscan break up even the most demanding samplesfor analysis.Anionssuch as nitrate, nitrite, chloride, fluoride, andsulfate are of relevance not just in the area ofdrinking water processing. The cell test kitsSimply user-friendly.Spectroquant ® cell tests are characterized bytheir high degree of user-friendliness. Virtuallyall of the reagents required for the analysis arealready contained in the cell. The bar codeprinted on each cell makes it unmistakeable,and when the cell is inserted into the photometerthe correct method is automatically selected,thus avoiding the risk of mix-ups.PackagingThe packaging provides an ideal protection ofthe cells during transport and against variationsin temperature and humidity. The label on theoutside gives important details on the contentsand safety, risk phrases in symbol form and inwriting, the batch number, and the shelf-life ofthe test kit (up to three years) at a glance.Package insertAll the information of relevance for you – forinstance the reaction principle, exact operatinginstructions, area of application, the influenceof foreign ions, and data on the accuracy – arepresented in an easily surveyable form in thepackage insert.Cell labelParameters and item numbers, risk phrases andcontents, and the most important thing of all,the bar code - that’s a lot of information givenin a very small space.The reaction cells are made ofspecial high-quality glass withexcellent optical properties.Additional reagentsOther reagents required for the determination orfor the sample preparation are included packedin easy-to-handle metering bottles.6

The reagent test kitsSimply inexpensive.Spectroquant ® reagent tests contain highlystable, ready-to-use reagent mixtures packagedin a user-friendly way. The ability to select thecell format makes the measurement range highlyvariable. The linearity of the calibration functionis tested for each individual cell format. TheAutoSelector contained in each package bearsa bar code that ensures that the correct methodis selected in the photometer. In many cases,thanks to the use of 50-mm cells the limit ofdetection is shifted right down to the ppb range.Spectroquant ® test kits can be used in everyspectrophotometer and also in photometersfrom other suppliers.ReagentsThe reagents themselves are either liquid orsolid and are added to the sample by meansof a dropper, pipette, or metering spoon. Anextremely long shelf-life (up to three years) andthe avoidance of the need to store the kits underrefrigeration are further advantages.The package contains all thenecessary reagents. The operatingprocedure is described in detailin the package insert.7

When it’s only one or two parameters that needto be determined, the corresponding Picco colorimeteris the compact solution for the user.When it comes to ease of use, the Piccos andthe corresponding test kits are in a class of theirown. Robust constructionThe Spectroquant ® Multy colorimeter featuresan ergonomically designed and acid-resistantkeyboard as well as a large-format graphicsdisplay. Temperature-compensated LEDs withinterference filters and an internal referencechannel (two-beam technology) supply resultswith the highest conceivable accuracy at sixdifferent wavelengths (430 nm, 530 nm, 560 nm,580 nm, 610 nm, and 660 nm). The uniquelydesigned optics system permits the automaticselection of the required wavelength withoutany moveable parts whatsoever being involved.The power is supplied in the form of easy-toexchangestandard rechargeable batteriesor the universal mains adapter. Thanks to theintelligent recharging control feature that isintegrated in the instrument, it’s possible torecharge the batteries while the unit is feedingoff the mains supply without having to removethem. Alternatively the instrument can alsobe operated without the mains adapter usingalkaline manganese batteries.
