INC invited to exhibit and to speak atthe EXPONUT, IstanbulINC Exhibits at the IFT Food Showin Orlando, U.S.A.The INC was invited to exhibit at the three dayEXPONUT, International Trade Fair forHazelnuts and products, nuts, dried fruits andTechnologies in Istanbul, Turkey, that took placeon June 22-24, 2006. This was the second edition ofthe trade show and attracted exhibitors and visitorsfrom all over Turkey and other countries.The INC had a 5m x 12m corner boothopened from two sides mainly emphasizingthe new web site and the data base. Threebig brochure showcase allowed us to distributethe different informative brochuresand catalogues. The booth also includedthe "internet corner" which allowed the visitorsto browse into the new INC web siteand to explore the Data base, how it worksand its contents.In addition to the exhibit, the INC Chairman,Cuneyd Zapsu, gave a speech at the opening ceremonyin which the INC was presented as the onlyand unique international source for information onnuts and dried fruits.The Exponut this year also included a technicalSeminar on nuts and dried fruits which was celebratedwithin the frame of the exhibition. Differentrepresentatives from the industry in Turkey, like theUndersecretariat of the Prime Ministry for ForeignTrade, the Istanbul Exporters' Union of Hazelnutsand Dried Fruits, and the Aegean ExportersAssociation, the EGE University, Faculty ofAgriculture among others, gave a review of the nutand dried fruit situation and outlook. The INC alsoparticipated in the Seminar with an speech deliveredby the Executive Director, Goretti Guasch,who presented the INC and introduced the newweb site and the Database, and the Chairman ofthe INC Scientific & Government AffairsCommittee, Pino Calcagni, who reviewed thehealth benefits of nuts and dried fruits and thefutur of the sector.The I.N.C. exhibited at the three day IFT FoodShow in Orlando, U.S.A., which took place in June25-27, 2006. This is the third year the INC isexhibiting at an IFT Food Show, after its participationin 2003 in Chicago and 2005 in New Orleans.The event attracted 16.111 attendess from 75 countrieswith over 900 booths,and featured many newapproaches in addition toits technical presentations,exhibits, meetings, shortcourses, and social events.The INC booth was strategicallylocated at theHealthy Food IngredientsPavillion and it was verywell visited by a great number of participants whichshowed a great interest for the activities the INC isdeveloping, specially the new data base information.The brochures distributed included the INCcorporate brochure, the Cracker information, thenew English version of "Go Nuts Go Healthy"brochure, the new brochure on nuts and driedfruits "Nutrition in every handful", 2005 Report ofactivities, reprints of the Data Base and web siteand Madrid congress information.The INC also sponsored the Symposium "Treenuts: nutraceuticals, phytochemicals and healthaspects" which was held onMonday, June 26th withinthe frame of the IFT.
