By attending aseries of seminars and completion of a written, oral, and practicalexamination, the student will have demonstrated a safe level ofcompetency in the specialty area according to the standardsestablished by USA.Certification Review and ExamCertification is a six-day process consisting of a 5-day Review Coursethat provides opportunity for reviewing and updating the contents ofeach of the seminars leading to Certification. On the fifth day, awritten exam is given, followed by a series of oral and practicalexaminations. The standard sought is the safe application ofadvanced clinical skills in the areas tested.RegistrationA therapist may apply to take the Review/Certification Course,provided he/she has taken all the prerequisite seminars required forthe desired Certification prior to the Certification exams.Results are confidential. Only the names of those who pass are listedas having taken part. Not even those present would know if acandidate completed all of the test components. Some come for theweek purely for the value of review. Some have taken the reviewtwice or more before taking the exams. For those who fail tocomplete all of the components of the Certification process, theUniversity makes arrangements for them to be retested at variouslocations throughout the country, convenient to the candidate andinstructor.Note: Early application is recommended. The Certification refundpolicy is designed to discourage last minute withdrawal.ProcessTo earn each Certification, a therapist must attend seminars totaling atleast 25 days, culminating in a weeklong review and examinationprocess.iv
