A code template is a block offrequently used source code that can be inserted automatically by using a particularkey sequence. A | character is used in the template to indicate the required position ofthe cursor after the template has been expanded.Editing code templatesTo edit code templates, do the following:•From the Edit menu, click Advanced then View Code Templates.Code templates can either be expanded manually or automatically when the Space keyis pressed.Manually expanding a templateTo expand a code template manually, do the following:•Type a key sequence, for example the keys c followed by b for the comment blocktemplate.•From the Edit menu, click Advanced then Expand Template or type Ctrl+J toexpand the template.Automatically expanding templatesTo expand the template automatically, do the following:•Ensure the Expand Templates On Space editor property is enabled.•Type a key sequence, for example the keys c followed by b for the comment blocktemplate.•Now type Space key to expand the template.88 Chapter 8 Basic editing
