Printing Symbol Browser contentsYou can print the contents of the Symbol Browser by focusing the Symbol Browserwindow and selecting Print from the File menu, or Print Previewif you want to seewhat it will look like be<strong>for</strong>e printing. CrossStudio prints only the columns that youhave selected <strong>for</strong> display, and prints items in the same order they are displayed in theSymbol Browser, so you can choose which columns to print and how to print symbolsby configuring the Symbol Browser display be<strong>for</strong>e you print.We have touched on only some of the features that the Symbol Browser offers; to findout more, refer to Symbol browser (page 133) where it is described in detail.Using the debuggerOur sample application, which we have just compiled and linked, is now built andready to run. In this section we'll concentrate on downloading and debugging thisapplication, and using the features of CrossStudio to see how it per<strong>for</strong>ms.Getting set upBe<strong>for</strong>e running your application, you need to select the target to run it on. The Targetswindow lists each target interface that is defined, as does the Targets menu, and youuse these to connect CrossStudio to a target. For this tutorial, you'll be debugging onthe simulator, not hardware, to simplify matters. To connect to the simulator, do one ofthe following:•From the Target menu, click Connect <strong>ARM</strong> Simulator.—or—•From the View menu, click Targets to focus the Targets window.•In the Targets window, double click <strong>ARM</strong> Simulator.After connecting, the connected target is shown in the status bar:The color of the LED in the Target Status panel changes according to what CrossStudioand the target are doing:•White — No target is connected.•Yellow — Target is connected.•Solid green — Target is free running, not under control of CrossStudio or thedebugger.Chapter 2Using the debugger27
