Thisincrease was the result of enhanced research activities (36% increase in federally sponsored research) and our hospitalrevenues returning to pre-recession levels. Revenue from other service activities such as diagnostic work also contributedto the increased income. Alumni and Friends FY11 GivingThanks to your generosity, the UGA College ofVeterinary Medicine had another great fundraisingyear in FY11, with a total of $4,640,925 in giftsand pledges from alumni and friends (compared tothe FY10 total of $5,284,317).The CVM’s alumni donor giving base continuesto be among the strongest of all the University ofGeorgia’s 17 schools and colleges. Within FY11,18% of the CVM’s alumni made gifts to ourCollege, which is within 1% of the level of givingwe had from our alumni in FY10. Once again, wewere exceeded by only the School of Law, whichhad a 25% alumni participation rate. The CVM’sgoal is to have at least 25% of our alumni givingannually.Gifts restricted to the CVM from all UGA alums(a total of 762 alums from all UGA schoolsand colleges) jumped more than fourfold, to$1,269,435 (compared to $302,497 in FY10)!Sources of FY11 Annual Giving(reflects dollars per entity type)UGA Alumni59%Organizations10%Friends18%Corporations13%Photos by Wingate Downs PhotographyClass Campaign/Reunion GivingFY11 was another great reunion giving year for the College, with$134,405.75 in class campaign totals.Gifts from the Class of 1966 (top photo) totaled $27,530.92 (a 29%participation rate), more than any other reunion class at the 48th AnnualVeterinary Conference & Alumni Weekend.The Class of 1981 (middle photo) came in second with gifts totaling$24,395.00 (a 29% participation rate).
