My Dear Friends,
THE HE PASTOR ASTOR ASTOR’S ASTOR PARAGRAPH
ARAGRAPH
Today is a 2nd collection for our church’s Campaign for Human Development. This
is an annual collection designed to promote programs which create opportunities for
people who are in need to help themselves. I have put some words of the US Bishop
who coordinates this effort in the ‘Reflection’ on the front page of this week’s bulletin.
The 2nd collection last week for the victims of Hurricane Sandy came to $3,902. Thank you for this generosity and
we will send the funds to be distributed through Catholic Charities. If you wish to contribute, just mark your gift
and place it in any of the collections today.
On the back page of the bulletin is a letter from Bishop Burbidge expressing thanks for our contribution to the Diocesan
Cathedral Campaign. We have now reached the goal for the Cathedral and the 2012 Bishop’s Annual Appeal.
All the funds we receive from here on go to our own new church fund—Our Church~Our Time Campaign. You can
see the latest updates in another part of the bulletin. For those who were not here last week—we will distribute
pledge forms again today. We still have one important goal to reach—100% parish family participation.
