P. “Culture and Education,” “Safety Patrol” and
“To Those Who Served”
The northeast murals evoke themes from the present-day Indianapolis
of the mid-1930s. The panels from left to right are “Culture and
Education,” “Safety Patrol,” and “To Those Who Served.” In the left
panel can be seen the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library
Central Branch in the background, which forms the other end of the
mall just a few blocks north of the Court House. In the last panel, Mr.
Christian has included a grey-uniformed veteran, probably of the
Civil War, and the World War Memorial in the background.
