Rotor 16SOLVExcellent ExtractionsRotor 16SOLV expands the possibilities of the Multiwave 3000from inorganic to organic sample preparation, allowing you toreplace slow and tedious classical extraction methods.Extremely fast, safe and easy Microwave-Assisted Extraction(MAE) improves both the performance and throughput ofHPLC- or GC-based analysis.Extractions of PCBs, PAHs and hydrocarbons fromenvironmental and food samples, derivatization reactions priorto analysis or polymer extractions can be performed within 15to 30 minutes. For digestion and extractionThe Multiwave 3000 can be upgraded to a dual-useconfiguration by simply interchanging the screw caps.Benefits4 Significant reduction in extraction times4 Solvent consumption reduced to a minimum4 High-throughput extractions of up to 16 samplessimultaneously4 Meets requirements of US-EPA and ASTM methods4 Vessels are hermetically sealed and easy to handle4 Highest safety standards with GS and ETL certificates4 Temperature and pressure-controlled procedures in closedvessels – perfect extractions within 15 to 30 minutes4 Magnetic stirring for increased recoveryPassive heating elementsNon-polar solvents do not absorb microwave energysufficiently, but are required in many applications. The use ofpassive heating elements overcomes this drawback!4 Inert, stable, and reusable material4 No contamination of samples4 Excellent coupling efficiencyPressure filtration unitAn integrated filtration device for direct connection to theextraction vessels simplifies your sample work-up significantly.Applying pressure reduces the time required for filtration andrinsing to a few seconds.4 No loss of volatile analytes4 No exposure to solvent vapors

Rotor 8EVAP & Rotor 1DRYEvaporation & DryingVersatility in sample preparationThe Multiwave 3000 supports more than just digestion andextraction. Concentration of aqueous samples, drying ofsample material prior to digestion or removal of acids afterdecomposition can be done with the Multiwave 3000 in afraction of the time required by conventional techniques.Rotor 8EVAPThe evaporation rotor greatly simplifies and accelerates themicrowave-assisted evaporation of acids and concentration ofaqueous sample solutions.Prior to digestion, sample solutions can be reduced in volumein order to increase analyte concentrations and improvedigestion efficiency. After digestion, acids can be fumed off directly from reactionvessels under controlled clean room conditions. Acid vapors aresafely exhausted to an external scrubber and neutralized.4 Increased sample throughput4 No liquid transfer required4 Clean room conditions – no risk of contaminationScrubberRotor 8EVAP requires efficient acid fume and reaction gasexhaust. The optional scrubber washes and neutralizes thereagent vapors, which arise from microwave-heated acidevaporation and concentration processes. Efficient gas diffusershelp to wash out up to 95% of acids. Simply connect thescrubber to the Multiwave 3000 lead-through.Rotor 1DRYThe drying rotor is the ideal accessory for efficient handlingof samples prior to decomposition. Microwave drying takes aquarter of the time required by conventional methods, withoutcarbonization or contamination of samples. The integratedexhaust unit removes humidity and unwanted odors.

Special Solutionsfor Special ApplicationsAnton Paar has a long tradition of co-operation withinternational universities and research institutes. Our ongoingdevelopment and enhancement of innovative solutions ensuresthe satisfaction of all our customers' needs, including thosewith special requirements on a global basis.Oxygen combustionMicrowave-Induced Oxygen Combustion is an innovativemethod for sample preparation for all kinds of combustiblesolids such as wood, paper, coal, food or polymers.Volatile compounds such as halogens or several metalsreleased during this combustion process are trapped in anabsorption solution, which is subsequently analyzed via ionchromatography or atomic spectrometry.4 Replacement of steel combustion bombs4 Parallel combustion of up to 8 samples4 No handling of electrical connections or ignition wires4 No metal parts inside the combustion chamber –reduced risk of sample contaminationUV digestionMicrowave-Assisted UV Digestion is a powerful technique forultra-trace analysis of liquid samples with a high content oforganic compounds, e.g. seawater, effluents, sewage, bodyfluids or beverages.4 Microwave-energized UV lamps4 Minimum amounts of reagents required4 No need for concentrated mineral acids4 Low analytical blanksProtein hydrolysisProtein hydrolysis in liquid or gas phase is a well-establishedprocedure for sample preparation and structure analysis.Microwave protocols reduce the overall process time to lessthan one hour, compared to several hours of heating in classicalthermal methods.4 For milligram to gram amounts4 Disposable glass inserts4 No cross contamination4 Inert gas atmosphere applicable4 Accurate reaction control
