A graduate in Political Science andEconomics, he graduated from the FilmInstitute of India in 1965. He has scripted anddirected ten feature films and more than twodozen Shorts and Documentaries. His first film, Swayamvaramwent on to win national awards for best film, best director, bestcameraman and best actress setting a record of sorts.
